This is also something that's very important to me. Proton Drive is working well for me as a backup solution, but I'd hoped to use it to completely replace Dropbox, which I use to sync a few files between my home and work computers.
I'm very uncomfortable making the content of all folders backed up from my home PC (all my personal photos and documents, etc) potentially visible on my work machine. I realise they don't take up space there, but I don't want my work machine to have any access to them at all.
There are two possible features that would solve this problem:
1. Allow selective syncing (eg. only sync selected folders to a particular machine)
2. Allow folders to be shared (and kept in sync) between Proton accounts - so I could, eg. set up a separate work Proton account and share the relevant folders between my personal and work accounts
Given Proton's focus on privacy, it's surprising to me that there's no way to avoid making all your files available on every machine. Until there's some way around this Proton can't entirely replace Dropbox for me, which is a real shame.
