I do have use cases where I need to use macOS, iOS and Windows and do have the Proton apps on them. I have beta tested on them as well. But my daily driver and the majority of my other uses including most beta testing are done on Linux distros. Has been that way for many years. So while I wouldn't call it critical I would call having full Linux support is important and would be very much appreciated.
