    strongbox allows to add yubikey not only for access but also uses it for encryption. I wish proton would support that

    Even if the backup was automatic only in the desktop app that would be already super helfpul. Enpass has this feature.

    An alternative would be to provide the user the option to back up the offline vault directly themselves and provide a python script to decrypt.
