    I don't get, why this policy hasn't been changed yet, even so the issue is known for years.

    My mistake was, that I created a ProtonMail account a few years back, just to test its functionality.
    After Proton added more and more features over the years, I decided to migrate from Gmail to ProtonMail but had to discover, that my old account including the address I prefer to use have been blocked for eternity.

    That doesn't make sense at all and is something that would never have happened to a Gmail account.

    By now I am a paying user for over a year, but I am still annoyed by the fact, that I have to use a mail address I don't really like.
