I initially had the same issue with Proton Drive not appearing within the default native Android "Files" manager app.

    However I then discovered this:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonDrive/comments/1e6weyc/access_through_android_file_manager/

The Proton Support Team clearly states that:

"Integration with the Files app can only work if Proton Drive can operate in the background. When you have App Lock option activated in Proton Drive app settings, the application cannot function until it's unlocked by the user - either by FaceID, TouchID or PIN. When launched in the background, the extension can not present the Unlock interface and the app can not be unlocked, meaning that the Files app can not receive a response from our Proton Drive app to any of its requests."

I followed the instructions and I disabled the App Lock option within the Proton Drive Settings.

And indeed the issue was fixed and my Proton Drive content can now be accessed, viewed, and modified through the default Android "Files" manager app.

TL;DR Simply disable the App Lock option within the Proton Drive Settings and the issue will be fixed!
