    My primary incentive for becoming a paying Proton subscriber was an urgent need to get away from tech monoliths such as Google and Microsoft. Proton not treating Linux as a first-class platform entirely defeats the purpose. I am still stuck with the monoliths because there are no Proton equivalents to their cloud, photo, or office apps.
