I would love this too. (Either in the implementation below by Anonymous or John Davies). Very simple improvement, big effect!
When a Proton Calendar all-day event name is to long to display, it abbreviates with "... ". This often takes up 50 - 60% of the available space (in the Android app in Week view, which is my default experience), making the info meaningless with no real upside. Instead: use all available space, like Google Calendar does. (And Proton does for non-all-day events.)
*Example*
I put an all-day event in my Calendar called "Theme park" (in the Android app in Week view)
Proton Calendar displays: "Th... "
Google Calendar displays "Theme".
With the Google version I immediately know what it refers to, with Proton I have to click to see what it is.
Even the 'upside' of "... " isn't relevant: yes, it does show that the text is abbreviated, but the Google version does that too as the text runs right up to the edge of the appointment box, intuitively showing that the text is abbreviated.
I think this could be a very minor change to an existing feature with obvious upsides and zero downsides. Hope you could do this!
