I would switch to Proton from Gmail in an instant, if there were solid AI integration in all Proton apps. It doesn't even need to be top tier, just something that can manage emails and files, calendar entries, notes and projects. I'd pay a premium on existing Proton plans for it, especially if there is a family option, but obviously it needs to be affordable. Something that combines the functions of Gmail and Perplexity, plus privacy, would make Proton my go-to service.
