The lack of a native Linux client for Proton Drive is preventing me from moving my entire family from Microsoft 365 to the Proton ecosystem. Frankly, I find this incomprehensible.

Linux is built around privacy, freedom, transparency, and independence — the very principles Proton claims to champion.

Across Europe, governments, businesses, and individuals are increasingly embracing Linux and open-source solutions to reduce dependence on Big Tech and strengthen digital sovereignty.

Yet Proton excludes Linux users from a critical component of its productivity suite. Browser access is simply no substitute for proper desktop integration and file synchronization.

The irony is striking: Proton promotes digital independence while effectively pushing Linux users back into the ecosystems they're trying to escape.

Without a Linux Drive client, Proton disqualifies itself as a complete Microsoft 365 alternative for Linux users.

Supporting Linux shouldn't be an afterthought on Proton's roadmap. It should be a strategic priority.
