Better UX for iPadOS Proton Mail app (split‑view layout)
Proton Mail’s iPadOS app should adopt an adaptive split‑view layout that takes advantage of the device’s wider screen: a fixed‑width left column for folders and the message list, a flexible central pane that previews the selected email, and an optional right pane for contextual content such as thread history or attachment previews. This layout mirrors the familiar two‑column designs of Apple Mail and Outlook, reduces vertical scrolling.
By implementing responsive spacing, larger typography, and split‑view states, the app will feel more native on iPad (currently it just feels like using a big iPhone app on the iPad screen, improve workflow…

Ability to disable login capability for added additional addresses
The fact that I can have more than one address tied to one Proton account is genius, I use it a lot, but here's the thing: I want to disable login capability for some of those addresses.
Like most, I have an account that has a lot of my personal information (Pass, Mail, Drive...), and I also have additional email addresses set up for various purposes. The primary email I use to log into my account is kept private and is not shared, while I use other addresses (such as variations of my full name) when necessary (banks, financial institutions,…

Encryption Icon for Emails in Android app
I would like an icon for emails in the Android app that shows whether an email is encrypted, or just stored with zero-access encryption. I can see this information in the web browser and on the desktop app. It would be nice to reflect the info on the mobile app as well.

Display folders ontop for ease of access + splitting up additional addresses
Folders are nice and all, but almost every email provider I've tried before proton has an easier way to go between folders and view labels and the like. Being able to have a folder set up at the top of the inbox would make the fact that additional addresses are forced into the same inbox a little easier because then I could have each email as a separate folder on the top of my email inbox, and then could use sub folders and labels to force separate each email.
as it currently stands I'm highly considering deleting all my proton…

Scribe assistant for mobile
I had an idea that Proton Mail could bring ProtonScribe into the iOS app as well. Ideally, it could even run natively on the newest Apple devices to take advantage of their performance. For users with relatively new and powerful hardware, there could be an option to enable this feature locally, so the assistant runs on-device rather than relying only on cloud processing. At the same time, older or less powerful devices could continue using Proton’s secure servers, just like the Windows app does, ensuring accessibility for everyone.

Automatic time parsing for new calendar events
When creating a new event in the calendar, any time written in the event header should automatically be put as the time for the event. The given time should then be removed from the header of the event.
Example #1: If an event is made with the header "Hairdressers 17:15" then the starting time for the event should be automatically set to 17:15 (on 24H systems) with a standard duration time of 1 hour. The header for the event in the calendar should then be just "Hairdressers" with the given starting time.
Example #2: Similarily, if an event is made…

Contacts and Calendar
In truth it is not a new idea but a request that has been reiterated for a long time and by various users. Google's abandonment presupposes that services such as calendar and address book can be used on Android with Proton account registration. If this problem is not resolved, the goal of abandoning Google becomes difficult to achieve.
This task is shown as completed but it is not. How much longer do we have to wait?4 votes -
Create a safe sender option for receiving email.
Safe sender list. Some emails never arrive after they've been sent to the correct address.

Add Select All, Unselect All button to Calendar web and mobile app
It is unnecessarily laborious, plus time consuming, to uncheck all but one of my 15 Calendars so that I may easily and quickly see the entries for that select Calendar. Then I must individually re-check each of the other 14 Calendars in order to see my entire schedule. Unselect All / Select All reduces this to 3 clicks. PLEASE make this addition to the Calendar functions. It will be a BIG improvement in functionality.

Timer on recovery options - password, email and phone
A friend lost access to their Google account recently. The hacker stole the phone and then changed password and recovery options on the email account.
While PM uses password to prevent recovery option changes, I felt it would also be prudent to prevent recovery option changes for some hours. This proposal aims to prevents recovery hijack (email and phone) after phone theft or unauthorised access and also prevents a user who knows your account password from changing recovery options without authorisation.
Proposed idea;
- Delay recovery email change for 8 hours.
- Delay recovery phone change for 8 hours.
Alternatively allow account…

Customize Email Reply Chains
Oftentimes, I have clients who will reply to an existing email chain instead of composing a new message. We should be able to break apart email reply chains into new chains and change the subject in future replies.
For example, I have an email chain with the subject "Meeting on July 14th". The client replied to the email for ideas about our upcoming meeting on October 6th. I wish to take this single email and remove it from the July 14th chain and start a new one for October 6th.

Disable categories
Option to remove the feature described below. Categories are useless. Labels already exist
Category view
Managing a cluttered inbox can be overwhelming, which is why we’re automating the process. Newsletter view was just the beginning. Soon, Category view will take things further, automatically organizing your emails into smart groups — like promotions, updates, newsletters, and more. This means fewer distractions and more control, letting you find what you need faster and focus on the messages that matter most.

Yearly View
Personally it’s easier to navigate through months with a yearly view. For example if I have a trip planned in May 2025, I need to scroll through 14 months to view the details of the event I made.

Permit Handling of attached files ie ISO 26300 (.odt/ods) open office formats
Protonmail frequently shows an inline file with standard suffix which it states preview is not supported. Many times these files are standard non-proprietary format (ie ISO 26300 or .odt or .ods). Yet, it does support and display proprietary files (ie Microsoft .docx).
This behavior is prejudicial and quite frankly a waste of time, bandwidth and storage to have to download to a temp storage location, find the file and where it was downloaded from LibreOffice/OpenOffice and reopen it.
It would be a straightforward program fix on files flagged as unsupported view types to permit the user to redirect the file…

Hide email subject in the android app notification
Even with Extended Notifications setting turned off and the app locked the subject of the email is still visible, which completely defeats the purpose of the the app lock. Many services include OTPs or other sensitive information in the subject line of the email which is visible in the notification.
While this can be addressed in the system settings, this is not a solution as those can be changed without unlocking the app.
I propose a setting next to extended notifications that will allow to have the notification show "1 new email" without any information.
