So embarrasing Proton - this took me half an hour. I'm not even a frontend dev and this thread has been open for 10 years!

more then 1 year....not ready yet? it allows for a much faster "flow" when clearing the inbox, similar to features found in other advanced email clients.

I am blown away that such a basic feature to kleeping Ur email clean is not available and has not been available for over a year. Sadly very much destroys my confidence in Proton.

If it's not implemented in December, I will cancel my subscription and move on.. it's such a basic feature!

Feature requested in 2016, work started 16 months ago for a mobile OS with less than 30% market share. I'm guessing this feature makes it to desktop in the mid 2030's

It would be great to be able to select between the previous or the next message to be shown after deletion. I read my emails from oldest to newest so this feature is useless for me. Thanks for the hard work. Love the apps and all the feature releases.

Upon clicking delete/archive/spam, instead of returning to the inbox, it opens up to the next email. There should also be the option to auto-advance to the previous email instead.

This feature is in Gmail and it's absence is infuriating especially when clearing out a full inbox. This issue was raised in a Reddit thread from 2 years ago but still hasn't been implemented.

Quickly scanning the ideas in the community I couldn't find this one: Reading messages in inbox would be enhanced if after deleting a message the dashboard would immediately go to the next message in the row. At the moment (at least when I use it) you delete a message, then the screen displays a message of how many emails you have in your inbox, and I have to to click actively onto the next message to read it. You can save clicks and time if after deleting a message the next email would pop up in the reading pane automatically without input of the user. Just thinking...

Any update on the desktop app having this feature? I'm fine, it's my wife that's been nagging after I "forced" her to delete Spark Mail... You guys need to up the game with features that other mainstream desktop/mobile apps have for email. No.1 is privacy, but let's add features please...
So, what's the update after 14 months from the response from Proton admin? Even an guestimation will do.

As I use ProtonMail more and more, the absence of this feature is so frustrating. Gmail and FastMail both provide this and I fully expected it to be available here too.

I just switched from outlook, and gmail before that ... I regularly have to toggle between upward of 250 messages a week to perform a routine admin function and it wastes so much time not being able to auto advance. Please make this function available.

Just switched to Proton email from CPanel and disappointed to find this feature not available. Please implement on the Wenb interface as soon as you can!

this one is a BIG deal for me moving from macOS mail.. in any mail box I need to quickly navigate through and delete messages. having to manually click or hit return after every time I hit delete slows me way down
