Apple Watch Support
Hey all,
Any chance of seeing the iOS app extended to the Apple Watch in the near future? Now that the watch has cellular capability and really enables phone-free activity, it would be great to be able to check my ProtonMail inbox from the watch.
Thanks

Grouped conversation sorting
When grouping conversations, it sorts the mails old to new. Can you add a sort function? I'd like the recent mails to be on top of the list.

Make the column widths adjustable.
When in Column layout, please make the column widths adjustable. I don't need the sidebar and message to be as wide as they are and I do need the message text area to be wider because text is often cut off.

Swipe to next/previous email on Android
I think a nice feature to have which is already seen in at least the gmail app on Android is the ability to swipe to the next/previous mail while reading. Say I'm reading my email's and I want to read the next one. The way I have to do this now is by pressing back and then opening the next mail. It would be a lot more comfortable to be able to just swipe from left to right to read the next mail or swipe from right to left to read the previous one.

Option to disable spam filter
Spam filtering options need to include the ability to whitelist entire domains, such as @example.com. Additionally a disable spam filter option would be excellent. A work around for adding a dedicated button might be a double wildcard whitelist: *@. Thank you.

It would be nice if you could store email templates for standard email replies like in MS Outlook

Separate read and unread mails view option
GMail has this wonderful and dead simple UI/UX feature which I would like to see in my ProtonMail account: inside inbox, one can choose to collect all unread emails first, on top and then (separated by a small label or something) one can see all the already read emails below. Otherwise in this "view" the order/sort can be changed to size/date both with asc/desc options.
This feature makes it very easy to look at the inbox and see all read and unread mails without clicking on "show read only" or "show unread only".
Thanks in advance!

Always load remote content for trusted senders
Please add the ability to load remote content for trusted senders—i.e. "allow once" or "always allow for sender." This is an extremely useful feature found in many mail apps, which allows remote content to automatically load for trusted senders without having to click the "Load remote content" text.

Hi everyone, this one is under consideration, pending anti-spam measures we might need to take.

Open the next email automatically after deleting or moving the first one
When I delete a message I want to go directly to the next email, instead of going to the inbox and then click the next email.
This feature is a simple one, but when you have to read a lot of emails it saves a lot of time.
It is available both in Gmail and Yahoo.
Thank you for your attention.578 votesWork on this feature has started, beginning with iOS availability.

Fingerprint Authentication for Android App
This would be the same as Support of TouchID for iOS. I know it would work only for Android 6 and up, but it's much more comfortable than PIN [of course as an option and not replacement of PIN completely]

Informing ProtonMail users about potentially unsafe messages
Hi,
I would like to see this feature added to ProtonMail.
When a ProtonMail user sends email to other email service or receives email from other email service, then ProtonMail will indicate / highlight...
a) When a received message was not encrypted (TLS)
b) When composing a message to a recipient whose email service doesn't support TLS encryption, or when the sender’s domain couldn't be authenticated. An indicator before sending a message to a service that doesn't support TLS encryptionThis will be useful, as the user can find out if email (sent / received) is encrypted in transit when communicating with other email service.
Of course we all know many email service does not support PGP
This feature was recently introduced in Gmail

Encrypted Contact Form for Websites
A contact form that we can embed on our websites so visitors can send encrypted emails to our ProtonMail addresses. The form could automatically encrypt messages before sending them, and have the usual fields like name, email, subject, and message body.
For example, the form could be inside an <iframe> that's served over HTTPS.
The embed code would need to use some kind of token instead of the actual email address, to protect the address from being disclosed to email harvester bots. Also, for greater security, the form could refuse to load if it detects it's embedded on an insecure HTTP page.

Encryption of all metadata
If Protonmail is to be serious about privacy, I don't understand why all metadata isn't kept solely in encrypted form. I just signed up for Scryptmail and any data is kept in encrypted form, unreadable for any third party.
I don't see why it would be necessary to keep for instance the senders or subject titles in encrypted form when Protonmail doesn't support POP3 or IMAP.
The problem is that otherwise e-mail is inherently insecure, because if for instance a governmental entity wants to see your account, while they won't have access to the content of your e-mails, they can see what you're talking about (through the subjects), and most of all who you are talking to. So they can just go to the providers of the people you're talking to, and obtain all your info via proxy.
I think if Protonmail doesn't become a true zero knowledge service then it provides more or less a false sense of security.

2,076 votesWe have given this quite a bit of thought, but at the present moment, it is not clear the advantages would outweigh the disadvantages.
The biggest problem is search. Encrypting all metadata would break metadata search entirely on the web client as there is still no efficient way to handle search of encrypted data within a browser.
Secondly, metadata encryption’s value from a privacy standpoint is also somewhat dubious. Because we ultimately must deliver the message to the recipient, we must know who the recipient is. At the current time, there still isn’t any proven and viable way to work around this.
Metadata encryption is an area of continued research for us, and when the opportunity arises and the technology for doing this matures, we will definitely implement it in ProtonMail.

Auto delete emails after x days (in inbox and other folders)
Auto delete after x days.....
1) from a Information control point of view, it could be useful to have a maximum life of all mails before being auto deleted;
2) For long term use the space is limited and may fill up, especially if used with large attachments.
Being able to auto-delete emails after x days would help ensure that it does not fill up.The number of days must be customisable per account as one size will not fit all!
