Ability to Show & Hide left Panel Folder List like you can on Right Panel for Calendar, etc. Also Shortcut keys to hide & show it.

I thought it used to be either adjustable with dragging mouse or icon to click on to hide or show it.

Proxy in ProtonMail app for linux
It would be nice to be able to add a connection settings in the ProtonMail app whether it is on windows, Mac or Linux (but mainly in Linux because more easy to setup) to be able to connect through a proxy socks5, http, https (preferably socks5) for adding a secure link layer like going through tor. This is in the case you are already running a vpn and you (as you should) run tor or i2p inside that vpn tunnel too.
I feel more secure to use the app than to use a browser to be honest with all the exploit which could make things go wrong inside a browser through an exploit and going outside the sandbox.It would be nice to be able to add a connection settings in the ProtonMail app whether it is on windows, Mac or Linux (but mainly in Linux because more easy to setup) to be able to connect through a proxy socks5, http, https (preferably socks5) for adding a secure link layer like going through tor. add functionality to support multi select/forward/delete email items
When working with the Proton email app in either the web-based client or desktop app it is very unfriendly to easily select multiple, individual messages with e.g. control/space/etc and then easily delete with DEL or SHIFT+DEL like working with Outlook or Gmail with just the keyboard. Additionally, it would be good to open a new compose-email in a separete window and enable dragging/dropping one or more existing email(s) into the new message to forward messages. This would be a great usability improvement.

Obsolete / Prompt setting for each email address in contacts
I would like to see a setting for each email address in the contacts, maybe it is called Email Status:
Normal - Email is used normally
Obsolete - Email is obsolete (the contact changed their email ... to proton!) but is used for identifying older emails using that address, you cannot compose a new email to that address without proton objecting.
Prompt - Email can only be used after verification by the user. For example maybe you don't want to accidentally send an email to your ex-partner or to your boss or someone you have a fraught relationship with. This would prevent that scenario which is one of the banes of email.I would like to see a setting for each email address in the contacts, maybe it is called Email Status:

Display amount of selected emails
I would love to see the amount of selected emails in the list view.
But also the amount of total emails in the folders' list (not just the amount of unread emails).2 votes -
Remember or set default mailbox sort
Every time I open Proton Mail I must select my preferred inbox/folder sort. For web, I can bookmark the query parameter, e.g.
https://mail.proton.me/u/0/inbox#sort=date. Still, it's impossible to bookmark a view on Proton Desktop (Mail, Calendar), so I must select my preferred sort manually each time I open the Desktop app.I'd love for Mail to either remember my previously-selected sort, or to allow me to define a default sort.

Color coding band size - post date
After the date has passed, the color band reduces to like 10%. Why?

Spell check should NOT be a charged service but free.
The spell-check feature should be included in a paid subscription, just as it is with other email providers. I should not be prompted to pay extra for a basic tool that services like Gmail offer for free. It feels unnecessary and disappointing.
In addition, external spell-check tools such as Linguee or Grammarly no longer work in the background, which they normally do on my notebook. By disabling this simple functionality, you effectively force users to copy and paste important or lengthy emails into other apps, which is inefficient and frustrating.

Knowing which folder an email is in during a search is unclear/confusing
Knowing which folder an email is in during a search is unclear/confusing. Sometimes there is an icon next to the date of an inbox, archive, sent or trash but at other times there isn't.
It would be really nice to have emails always display quite clearly which folder they're in.

Add hand-written notes to an appointment/meeting (Calendar)
For devices which have manual input either by touch or pen/stylus, allow to add notes for a meeting/appointment as editable attachments

Secure email portal
Create a secure email service where you can tag an email as “secure” and when you hit send it emails the recipient a different message with a link to a secure portal where they can read the original message. SMTP is inherently insecure, and taking someone to a secure portal to view the message is much more secure. There are commercial services that offer this functionality, like Zix.com.

Don't wait to display own calender while loading external calendars on Android
When opening the Android calendar app, external calendars take a long time to load. The Proton calendar isn't displayed during loading; you only see the loading icon.
It would be nice if the Proton calendar were visible immediately and the external .ics calendars were loaded later without blocking the user interface.It would be even better if external events were cached locally for a quick overview, and then synchronized in the background.

Pull Lists of Event Series
It would be so nice to be able to pull a list of all the vents in a series so see in list form the past and future instances of the events in that series. Maybe click on one and have a "see all events in this series" link or similar?

Delete 100 of OLDEST emails — NOT newest
When you click the “select emails to delete” button in trash, it makes absolutely no sense that the newest emails in the trash are deleted instead of the oldest.

Please add an icon to empty the folders without open them. For instance the screenshot from the different service.

Sender is not visible (calender invite)
If I send a Calandar invite, the receiver will not see that I am the sender when he saves that calendar invite. The only participant that is visible is the receiver of the invite.

Mail search UI should indicate it defaults to subject line
Advanced search has all the categories, like searching body text, sender/receiver/date
Therefore I ASSUME that the default search (not advance) searches only the subject line (as some threads on mail indicate it does).
The User Interface should clarify this assumption

Proton Calendar: Remember reminder settings
It would be great if the reminders that I set for an appointment could be remembered and automatically set per default for the next appointment I create.
Example: I choose "Remind me in 1 day" as a reminder for an appointment. For the next appointment, "Remind me in 1 day" is already suggested (instead of the annoying default 15 minutes per notification and 15 minutes per email).6 votes
