Proton team: how many votes do you need to consider this integration between email and calendar?
This is a critical productivity feature that keeps me under Google (GMail) territory preventing me to make a full transition to Proton (been craving to do it for years); disappointed the feature is not in 2024 roadmap preview. -

The integration of simplelogin aliases with proton calendar would be a huge win for all of us and would solve most of the issues posted in this thread as well as other issues not in this thread. To get a working calendar solution Proton forces us to give away our proton user acount email which none of us wants to do. Including Proton developers I'm sure. Please tell us you're working on this integration.
For the problem this thread is dedicated to:
- As soon as a calendar invite sent to a simplelogin alias can be automatically added to a proton user's calendar of choice many of the enhancement requests posted so far in this thread would be satisfied
- Forcing us to give away our proton mail account email address for this functionality to work is ridiculous -

To me this is like an electric windows on a new car or a stereo. You don’t expect to have to look for it and it should just be there.
Please add this as soon as possible - 3 votes

I don't care about the scanning and automation, which must be the difficult part.A button which adds the email as a calendar entry, where the textual content of the e-mail is automatically copied into calendar entry fields and I manually enter date and time would a good start

Agreed. Various event booking sites like Eventbrite send you a confirmation email with an "add to calendar" link, with the option of ICS format which Proton supports - but it still takes a whole series of steps: download the file, open Proton calendar, settings - import/export - import from ICS - select the file - done. If I was using the default Apple calendar I'd be done in one click.

would be great to see this functionality.
It would also be very nice if I my iOS Apps could directly import stuff into my calendar. (like bookings, appointments etc.) -

This is functional now, but only as a "will you attend?" button that only appears if your protonmail account is on the invite list. My problem is when the invitation has been sent to a simplelogin.co alias of my protonmail account - there's no way to respond Yes/No or even just add to my calendar.

This is over two years old. When I click an ics file in the web interface, why does it not automatically hand it off to the calendar app?

This feature exists, but only works if the to: address matches a ProtonMail account.
HOWEVER, we are all switching from OTHER accounts, so most of them are forwards.
Which means this feature doesn't work, and we have to do the download thing.
Just don't check the addressee at all. Let the *user* decide whether they can add the event or not.

Wow, just discovered that importing could be done by drag and drop. But this is totally not obvious. I previously had to go to settings and import manually. Just a bit of UX could make the experience way better.

This is critical for me. I don't want to have to waste time manually turning an email into a calendar entry, I should be able to do it seamlessly.
This needs to occur in all instances: web, mobile app, etc. If you get it on the Android you'll get the drop on Gmail; they still haven't enabled this ability in their Android app, you can only do it in their webmail client.
Ideally, Protonmail would recognise a 'calling notice' email and ask me if I want a calendar entry, plus it should try to populate the calendar entry itself but let me edit it.

It is already available in the Web Version, but needs to be added to Android (and probably iOS)

I have waited years to use protonmail and calendar on my iphone. Please finally make the circle complete. I still have to wait until I get to a computer to make appointments. Why? It is 2023. Google did this years ago.

Currently you have to download attached ics calendar events and then import them manually into proton calendar. It would be nice to have the option to directly add the ics to a proton calendar from the email itself removing the need to download it first then import it

I want to be able to create an entry seemlessly without having to click the narrow part of the bottom after the day is populated. A suggestion:
One Click (an entry) - Displays event/details
Double Click (anywhere in the day area) - Creates an event
Left click - Displays options to view week, jump to a specific date, or search for an event -

How is this not planned? Exporting an ics file and reimporting it in a different browser tab is ridiculous.
