More than 3 custom domains?
It would be wonderful if there is a choice to add more than 3 custom domains even if any additional domains come with a cost.

Custom domains are wonderful, I would absolutely be fine paying an extra add-on for more domains on my plan. Being able to use separate custom domains for different situations is really great and I would be more than happy to buy more custom domain slots.

Please Proton, consider increasing the custom domain limit.

This is the only thing preventing me from upgrading to a family plan. I'm using 3 custom domains just for my unlimited plan (would really like to use more), and all members of my family each have their own domain. 3 domains per user (18 in a family plan) would be ideal.

I just realized now how much worth an own domain is as you can keep the address for a life time and choose your provider as you please. Would be great to have the possibility to give the kids their own domain from the start. So yes, one custom domain for each user in the family plan would be great.

It's a critical feature to add more domain slots for paid accounts. I'm even ready to pay an additional $1-$5 annual fee for each new domain.

Same here, we have a bunch of domains for various side-projects and hobbies. The number of domains does not say anything about mail volume etc., and I don't think it's a valid differentiator between business and family accounts.
We also got the recommendation to go with a business account, which is ridiculous - the cost of business accounts for a family is prohibitive.
The entire approach with arbitrary limits (number of domains, number of emails or aliases, etc.) seems very last decade. Just make it unlimited fair-use, and be done with it. If a user abuses it, deal with it on a case by case basis.

The family plan should have 6 custom domains, as it also has 6 users. A scenario where each family member has her/his own domain (like with family) is impossible with Proton Mail unfortunately. It's also the single reason I am just using Proton myself and my family stays on iCloud+ because "Proton Business" is no alternative as suggested by support, since it's way too expensive just for family purposes. 6 custom domains for the family plan would also still differentiate between Family and Business options.

I agree. In my family, each member has their own domain. The fact that I can only use 3 domains with my Family subscription prevents me from fully onboard my elderly parents and my sister to Proton - currently they are only using Proton Pass.
When contacting Proton Support, asking for an option to pay for having just a single custom domain more with my family subscription, they replay that I can buy a Proton Business Suite subscription. Considering my ask - a proposal that is completely overkill; with a cost 3 times as high as the Family plan...
Come on, Proton, activate one domain per user 🙏

I also would like to switch to Family so I can give my kids custom domains. I'm currently on pro with just me and their dad and I have almost maxed out my 10 custom domains there, but if I were to add the kids as users to that plan it would double the cost to over $500 a year and they're kids who barely understand how to use email yet, so definitely not worth it for that. I am not actually running a business and the family plan in general makes more sense for us, and I would be willing to pay a couple bucks more per month for each extra domain, just like you do on Pro.

There's definitely an overlap between Proton users and owners of custom domains for email, homelabs, etc. I would like more than 3 as well. I assume the alias limit would still be more effective for Proton to enforce rather than a domain limit. Surely it doesn't cost Proton any more to connect to additional domains.

This missing is the only reason why I don't upgrade to Duo with my currently-non-Proton man. We are both geeks with multiple domains, and even I had to leave some of my own domains outside Proton. I like Proton and would like to use it for everything, even if there is a reasonable extra fee for the domains beyond the initial three.

The fact there's only 3 is baffling, I like SimpleLogin a lot but the advantage of having Proton manage the domain, the aliases etc is a far better experience. Please allow more or the option to buy more.

I just upgraded to a Family plan and realized the limit is still only three domains. I'm currently using two for myself and was going to add at least two more and my wife wants one for her business but that exceeds the limit. Can we please get at least 6 custom domains (one per family member)?
Ideally this would support more and I'd even be willing to pay a few dollars for 10+ custom domains.

6 users and 3 domains just doesn't work well.. I wouldn't mind paying extra for more domains but I definitely need the option to add more

I'd be willing to pay a little extra if that unlocks more custom domains (or buying them as an addon). To have 5 would be enough for me, but the only choice right now is to upgrade to a business plan, and that's too much for me. Duo and Family plans should allow at least 5 or 6 domains.
