Contacts sync in the mobile phone app
Contacts sync for mobile phones. I want to migrate my contacts management to protonmail away from gmail.
I want the same for calendar - but first things first :)
Contacts on a mobile device will automatically sync in the ProtonMail mobile applications.

In truth, the task isn't quite complete: it's not possible to select a specific Proton address book on Android. This is simply a porting of what happens in Proton Mail on PC. Proton Calendar could also already be accessed from Android using the specific widget. But these aren't solutions. Many of those who choose Proton, and who have long requested contact and calendar integration, do so to free themselves from Google. But at this rate, they'll never be free.

Does not feel supported: no way to get the phone contacts being updated from ProtonMail contacts. Also, duplicate https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/32521357-sync-contacts-with-phone-address-book

It seems that now is not possible (at least from android) syncing those contacts. A shame nowadays not having this. Tuta is able to.

To fully adopt, we need a way of syncing with contacts. We use contacts with other apps to send SMS and phone calls.

It seems to me, protonmail contact integration with mobile phones needs the development of protonmail "accounts" for android and iphone, accounts which include contacts. Then contact applications can draw on ProtonMail contacts just as they do for gmail, etc. This involves some solid work on the backend. I'd be surprised if there isn't some work being done on this. ProtonMail Admin, can you clarify?
This seems essential for basic contact management, otherwise users are obliged to duplicate contact information and maintain duplicates.

It is NOT completed. You cannot sync protonmail contacts with android contacts.

But it doesn't sync to the native Contacts app in iOS, hence its to say the least, very crippled, it needs to be integrated to the Contacts app!

Let me join in and say that I'd be willing to become a steady contributor if ProtonMail adds contact (with a groups feature) and calendar cloud sync and backup.

I would like to quote Flooo and everyone would need a contact management "google style" to migrate and get rid of google.
Having the contacts in the protonmail app only it is useless

The Team! say it's complete. So how can I do that ?
I think, the contact in the app can by sync but it can't replace the contacts management... so no, it's not complete !
It's essential for migrate basics users...

it's hard to imagine migration to protonmail without contacts syncing, it's crucial for mobile solutions.
