Make Proton Mail default app for .ics files
I think that I should be able to set the Proton Mail/Calendar app to be the default app for opening .ics files in MacOS, but it doesn't allow me to do this.

Move filters from settings to main screen
I have a large number of labels and an even larger number of email addresses that I like to sort and categorize to keep my main inbox cleaner and make it easier to sort my time by topic/area. Having to go to the settings and memorize/copy paste the address one by one is tedious and annoying. GMail's system of being able to select any number of emails and then creating filters based on that is far superior, and it would be nice if Proton adopted that. I am trying to migrate away from GMail, but this wrinkle is making the…

How to Extract PDF and Excel Attachments from Outlook PST Files?
However, when the Outlook PST files have thousands of emails that may include PDF reports, Excel spreadsheet, and other document types, it can become very time-consuming to extract them separately. The software Kernel Outlook Attachment Extractor can assist you in doing the same with greater ease because this application can be used to extract attachments from PST files in bulk. You can filter out different types of attachments and preview the email data with the help of filters available and then you can store the extracted files in your desired folder location. Make sure that you verify the extracted files…

What Is the Best Email to PDF Converter for Saving Emails in Bulk?
I had a huge number of emails, and I wanted to convert them into PDF files so that I can use them for safekeeping, sharing, and future references. It is very tiring converting them individually. So i went with Kernel Email to PDF Converter . It supports formats such as PST, OST, EML, MSG, and MBOX, and offers bulk conversion and options for managing attachments. You can add your email files, select the messages you want to convert, choose PDF as the output format, and save the converted files to your preferred location. This can be helpful for email archiving,…

Simple 3 month calendar View
When I was working, I used Outlook every day because I planned my time in one- or two-week increments. Now that I’m retired, I prefer a simpler, broader view. I’d love to see Proton Calendar offer a three-month view showing the previous, current, and next month together.
I built this layout in my own calendar app. A small triangle beneath a date indicates that it has one or more appointments. Clicking the date opens a popup showing that day’s events, while hovering over the triangle provides a quick preview without leaving the calendar.
Having the next month visible is especially…

Add snooze as sweep action in app
Snooze is already in the app, but it takes several taps to reach. Could it be added as a selectable option under Settings → Swipe actions? Ideally, swiping would open a quick picker with presets (later today, tomorrow, next week, custom).
It would make inbox triage on mobile much faster.1 vote -
Pin core folders and favourites in the Proton Mail sidebar
Problem: In accounts with many labels and nested folders, the sidebar becomes long enough that Inbox, Sent, Spam and Trash disappear above the fold. Navigating back requires scrolling up, which breaks the flow when triaging mail.
Proposal: Make the core mailbox entries sticky at the top of the sidebar while the label/folder list scrolls beneath them. Add a "favourite" (pin) flag for any folder or label, so frequently used ones sit in the same fixed block, reorderable by drag-and-drop. Optionally allow collapsing the scrollable section.
Benefit: Faster navigation for power users with heavy labelling setups, fewer mis-clicks, and consistency with…

Auto-open folder on 2sec-hover
When dragging an email from the inbox to a folder without letting the mouse button go, the folder should open/unfold after a 2sec delay and if it contains subfolders. This is a feature well known in the Mac world and proven UX. It simplifies mail management and the UX flow, since users do not need to prepare the folder structure before they file a mail into it.

What is the best way to migrate Google Workspace emails to Microsoft 365 while preserving folder structure?
The best way to migrate Google Workspace emails to Microsoft 365 while preserving the original folder structure is to use a reliable migration solution like the Cigati Google Workspace Backup Tool. It allows users to transfer Gmail emails, labels, folders, subfolders, attachments, and email metadata directly to Microsoft 365 while maintaining the original mailbox hierarchy. The tool supports secure authentication through OAuth 2.0 and Microsoft Graph API, helping simplify the migration process for individuals and organizations. Users can also apply advanced filters based on date, sender, recipient, subject, and specific folders to migrate only the required emails. For businesses…

Copy button for one time codes
I've noticed more email providers adding a copy button for one time codes and I think it would be very useful for Proton Mail!

Add Warning that 'Trash' action will delete all items in a thread
I use ProtonMail app on my Apple MacBook.
The 'Trash' icon should NEVER result in the deletion of all emails in a thread where previous thread items were archived.
At the VERY LEAST a pop-up should warn the user that all items in the thread will be deleted if I proceed and give an option to back out.
I have had numerous occasions where I accidentally 'Trash-ed' an email associated with a thread, from my Inbox and the entire thread was trashed (even though all other items in the thread were previously archived). If there was at least a pop-up…

Move 'Trash' Icon at Top of Proton Mail
Move 'Trash' icon so it appears at the right end of the Icon Bar, or at the very least so it appears to the right of the 'Spam' flame icon.
I use Proton Mail app on my Apple MacBook. Currently, the 'Trash' icon is located right next to the 'Mark as read' icon and just before the 'Archive' icon. This arrangement has resulted in my inadvertent deletion of emails I intended to archive. I will often mark as read and immediately archive an email where I know the content but need the email for future reference (e.g. Home Depot sends…

Linux desktop app: Register as text/calendar handler + forward .ics arguments
On Linux, clicking an .ics link in a browser downloads the file and there is no way to get it into Proton Calendar without manually navigating to Settings → Import/export and picking the file. Two separate gaps in the desktop app prevent this from working.
- The desktop entry does not claim the MIME type $ grep -i -E 'MimeType|Exec' /usr/share/applications/proton-mail.desktop Exec=proton-mail %U MimeType=x-scheme-handler/mailto;
text/calendar is absent from MimeType=, so the app is never offered as a handler for .ics files, and xdg-mime default proton-mail.desktop text/calendar has no effect. For comparison, gio mime text/calendar on the same system resolves to org.gnome.TextEditor.desktop…

Feature Request: Tree/Parent-Child Threading View for Email Conversations
Category: Message Display / Threading
Summary: Add an optional tree-style threading view that visually displays parent-child relationships between messages in a conversation thread, allowing users to see exactly which email a specific reply is referring to.
Current Behavior: Proton Mail's conversation grouping collapses multiple messages from the same thread into a single expandable entry, displaying them chronologically when expanded. However, this presents replies in a flat, sequential list without visual indication of which message each reply is responding to. In long or multi-party conversations where users branch off different topics, it can be unclear which prior message triggered a particular…

Does your video converter remux or re-encode? Most people never check
Something worth knowing before you convert anything: most converters re-encode by default, even when they don't need to.
Re-encoding decodes and rebuilds every frame. Do it once and you might not notice. Do it repeatedly, moving the same file between formats, and the degradation compounds. That's why a clip can look fine on your phone and noticeably soft when it finally hits a TV.
The alternative is remuxing — copying the existing video and audio streams into a new container without touching them. Zero quality loss, near-instant. FFmpeg does it with -c copy. The catch: it only works when the…

Can I Fix Corrupted Outlook PST File After a System Failure?
A system failure, unexpected shutdown, or storage problem can leave an Outlook PST file damaged or inaccessible. When this happens, users may be unable to open archived emails or access other mailbox items. Before attempting recovery, locate the affected PST file and create a separate copy if possible. Keeping the original unchanged helps protect the source data while you assess the damage and choose a suitable repair method.
A dedicated recovery utility may help when Outlook cannot access the file. The Aryson Outlook PST Repair Tool scans damaged PST files and provides recovery modes, including Standard, Advanced, and Deep. Users…

Keep Message Header Visible While Scrolling (Sticky Header)
When reading long emails in the Proton Mail web interface, the message header scrolls out of view along with the email body. This makes it inconvenient to check important information such as the sender, recipients, or message date without scrolling back to the top.
It also makes accessing message actions unnecessarily cumbersome, as users have to scroll back to the top of the email to perform actions such as Reply, Forward, or any other available message action.
I would like to suggest keeping the message header permanently visible at the top of the reading pane while scrolling through an email,…

Toggle Floating "Unread" and "Compose" Buttons in Mobile App
Apologies that I am not using the correct terminology as I have no clue what they are.
I would like to suggest having a toggle to make the "Unread" and the "Compose" buttons that are floating at the bottom of the screen to become static (?) at the top in the Header area, under or next to where it says "Inbox". I assume making these floating had something to do with the Categories that were implemented, but that was turned into a toggle. These floating buttons at the bottom of the screen hide emails and take up space especially on…

include original To/CC recipients in the quoted headers when forwarding a message.
When forwarding an email, only the TO recipients are added in the quoted headers. This means that the recipient of the mail does see all the recipients that got the email originally.
Email is a legally allowed document. It is very frustrating that I got into legal problems because I could not show directly that a specific person had gotton the mail as a cc recipient, because in the forward that person was then not visibile anymore as a recipient.
Please add cc recipients in quoted headers when forwarding a message. Or make optional to enable it.1 vote
