Always load remote content for trusted senders
Please add the ability to load remote content for trusted senders—i.e. "allow once" or "always allow for sender." This is an extremely useful feature found in many mail apps, which allows remote content to automatically load for trusted senders without having to click the "Load remote content" text.

"Click to load images if you trust this sender" is a good feature, but it should have an option to "always trust this sender" so that for future messages, images are loaded automatically.

It is not about the IP address, it is about giving away to spamers the information that I have looked at the email. I don't want that except for all trusted senders. Therefore it should be possible to add a sender to a list of trusted ones (e.g. Amazon) to avoid endless klicking to show pics of these senders.

For clarity - I even want to load trackers for Trusted Senders.

The ability to add trusted senders to always load images and trackers would be great to have!

Some senders are 100% trusted and send emails regularly (aka newsletter). I always open all their emails and read through. They're usually rich on embedded images and/or photos, so every time I have to use the "load" button. Is it possible to make a list of senders which I would be able to see as totally trusted as well as senders totally untrusted (yet you have to read them for some reason)? Then for trusted all embeddings would be loaded and for insecure ines - a notification popup as a reminder that you'd need to remove this sender from the list of insecure senders before being able to see embeddings.

Great idea. This is an option in MS365 mail services.
There is something more to this, as well, as I do find examples of mailing list messages where: 1) the images do load on their own (rare, not sure the exception, and not just official Proton mail), and 2) the images fail to load even when I click Load (e.g. Duolingo progress reports on mobile).

Hi
I have disabled automatic loading of images in mails
But for messages SENT by me I think it's only natural that the images are always shown. I mean, I created the email, surely the images in it are safe for me to load ;)
Other suggestion: Load pictures from senders where I have already clicked "load images". Like a trusted-list -

Someone told me it is already there in the Android app etc. so sorry for my comment and just in case search sends you here this is how you can do it via the current Android app:
settings > account > privacy > auto show remote images......
If protonmail developers get any spare time a search function in the android settings menu would be great....

Please why has this still not been added after 6 years, I have just joined and this is so annoying I am considering leaving, I am happy otherwise, but this is basic mail functionality, it is available on the web app and via the bridge app with thunderbird, why not the Android app, makes no sense to me sorry....

This change would remove an annoying, serial waste of time. Thanks.

This would be highly welcome, eliminating the need to click on 'load' to see full content from known senders (most of my mail).

I want this too. Also in the android app

Still waiting...
It's so frustrating that I'm considering leaving ProtonMail for that single reason. -

It would be great to be able to auto load remote content from select trusted partners.

Critically annoying, that's for sure.

It's been 6 years. Still no answer ?

Yes please, it's frustrating having to click this every time, for the same contacts/senders that I trust.

This is the only missing feature that keeps me from upgrading.

This is an incredibly basic functionality offered by most of Proton's less secure competitor's and as others have pointed out, user behavior almost assuredly will prove out that offering it makes the account more secure as the current options of click load every single time vs turn on loading all images leads to people choosing the latter when what they really want is to load always for trusted contacts.

I would like images to load automatically in the free version of proton mail.
