Agreed. It is time consuming to purge a folder, like the archive, for example, or just a folder for which you no longer need the emails that are present kept. This is needed to free up storage space. Proton Mail has so far not created that feature, I hope not to encourage users to buy more storage!

Make it easy to delete old emails. I have several hundred pages to delete. I only can delete them one page at a time!

I can't believe this was originally requested as far back as 2017 and it's still not there. You could hire a summer intern to write the code. Please!

I been looking every where and it seems that there is no way to delete more than 50 emails at once.

Trying to clean out 5000 emails 50 at a time is ridiculous. Then when one goes to delete from from trash permanently: again, one page at a time. I really tried to figure out how to select ALL messages from a certain vendor or select ALL messages in Trash, but it would only select one page at at time. Please tell me there is a way and how to do it, or add a way very soon. Or tell me I can access my account via SMTP and do it that way, thank.

This is sooooo annoying. Why would you upgrade to a larger storage size protonmail if that just means you will now spend even MORE time deleting email? Basic 101 function. I won't pay for any Proton service upgrade until this is fixed.

I receive tons of spam and I can only delete 50 of them at a time. Even when I choose "select all" it only selects the first page.

Electronmail will allow you to move or delete entire folders of emails in one operation. It will also allow you to batch export to eml and json formats. It is free. But rather hard to figure out how to use. Seems to be secure. Google "download electronmail".

This is frustrating to say the least. How is this even a problem? Just add the feature. I thought they would have this feature, at least, on the paid version of proton. Nope. . .

In the latest beta version 15 the button that allowed to simply delete all mails in the Spam folder has disappeared. This is a real pity - please bring this feature back!

As a new Proton user, I mistakenly imported over 20,000 mails from my Yahoo account. So, I severely hit this apparently eternal delete-problem. I'm liking ProtonMail so far but I need the ability to delete more than 50 emails at a time. Also I find the Android App to be almost useless.
