BUG ----- Settings > Messages and composing > "Exclude Spam/Trash from All mail" can only be activated on ProtonMail web and behaves correctly for the 'All mail' folder both on the Web and Windows Desktop version but not on the latest Android mobile version 4.0.19.1 (9670) independent of the Read/Unread filter.

I suggest a couple of options in the settings:

Should All mail folder include (and then two checkmarks: spam, trash)

Should All mail search include (and then two checkmarks: spam, trash)

So anyone using all mail to check their own spam/trash too will be satisfied.

Actually, all mail is used to check everything at once for those who have multiple addresses/folders with filter rules. But who only has one email address and no rules already has everything in incoming mail, so for them I understand why it makes sense to have spam and trash in "all". Even if I am one of the guys that checks incoming from all addresses in mail. :) The options are the best way, no one will be disappointed.

If it is possible to exclude the trash and spam from all mail folder through user configurable option, then the function of automatically deleting messages from the trash after 30 days will be relevant. Without the ability to exclude the trash and spam, I still empty the trash constantly, because I look at my incoming mail in all mail folder, since I have 25+ folders in my sorted mailbox. Better, if user can select mode byself - include(by default) or exclude trash and spam folders from all mail folder view.

I actually like that All Mail also shows Spam and trash. This way I can quickly make sure I didn’t miss some E-Mail. If you implement this, please make it optional.

@Proton, glad to see this is planned but please also let us turn off Archive and use All Mail instead so Archive function would behave similar to Gmail, which move the message to All Mail from current folder.

Agreed, this is necessary and establishes parity with Gmail. When I want to see all mail, I do not want to see mail in my trash folder - that isn't mail, it's trash. The same principle should apply to the Spam folder.

Please ensure that this also applies when searching within "All Mail" via the search bar!

This needs to be implemented soon... this suggestion is 5 years old at this point and is probably one of the easiest suggestions that will massively improve the quality of the service for a lot of us. I will likely start looking for a new mail provider at some point because it has become such a sticking point for me.

The 'All Mail' folder is one I use by default, because I have a ton of mail that doesn't go directly to 'Inbox'. It's super frustrating having it be full of spam, this means I have to check each individual mail box and have no way of getting an overview of my recent mails easily.

Please please please please let us hide Spam and Trash from All Mail.

This is probably the most infuriating part of ProtonMail. I love ProtonMail but when you click All Mail to see the mail from all your created folders, it's so difficult to sort through what's already been deleted.

Happy to see that this request already exists. Sad to see that it was first requested so long ago and still no change. At least provide the option to hide Spam and Trash from the All Mail folder, maybe a toggle slider in settings.

I would also like to know the rationale for the current behaviour of showing Trash and Spam emails inside All Mail. I just can't understand what good can come of it.

Adding my vote. Important to implement soon. This looks like a simple filter needs to be added. You must be using filters for all the other boxes. Not sure why one can't easily be added to "All Mail" as well.

Are we ever going to get an update on this request since it's listed as "under review"? This is an essential feature that's needed. Please move on it sooner than later.

It's absurd that this is even the default, you don't even have a setting to turn this off without hassle?
