  2. DMARC monitoring dashboard for aggregation and forensics data

I would like to see a reporting dashboard like dmarcian.com inside Proton Mail, so that I do not have to expose statistics and even PII related to my email behavior with 3rd party systems. I would like Proton to allow me to configure a Proton-owned email address in the rua and ruf DMARC DNS record fields.

The main reason is that forensics reports (RUF) contain personal identifyable information (PII). But also the aggregate reports (RUA) contain aggregated information which exposes to which email servers I have been sending email.

    Currently my options are:
    1. No RUA or RUF entries in…

  3. Change default view

When the iOS Proton Mail app is opened, the default view shown is the inbox.

Add a setting where you can set the default to All Mail, Starred, a custom folder, etc.

  4. Set and save mail's template for repetitive mail allowing us to just make some personnalisation without losing the template.

i work as an herbalist and send some generics mail to my clients (1-before the meeting, a mail with questionnary about their health in attachment, 2 - after the meeting 1 mail with the resume of our meeting and some documents in attachment, for exemple.)

It would be nice to have some template ready to use (setted by us) to gain time.

  5. Support UnifiedPush for android notifications

I don't have google services on my phone and having every app permanently connected checking for new messages is detrimental to battery life. UnifiedPush is the open alternative to Google Cloud Messaging: https://unifiedpush.org

  6. Sync labels between Proton Mail and SimpleLogin

I find it difficult to organize emails from a SL alias. I do not know if this is feasible but if I could choose to add Proton Labels in the SimpleLogin UI to the alias that show up in Proton mail, then I could use a filter to move/mark emails.

Currently, I have to manually open the filter and add the new alias to perform any moves/marking of the email, and this is a repetitive task. If SL added labels to the email, then it would reduce the manual labor/upkeep.

  8. Allow to use Bridge CLI in SMTP-only mode

Currently, Bridge seems to be caching the whole inbox when connected to an account. This makes it inefficient as a SMTP server (too much storage is used). SMTP-only would be enough for a notification service, e.g. on a NAS.
It would be great to have an option to disable email fetching (IMAP) for this use case and provide just the SMTP server.

This idea could be probably realized in a form of option switch for the login command of the Bridge CLI.

  9. Add contacts button to product switcher

Create a button or tile for Contacts similar to the buttons for Mail, Calendar, Drive etc. so I do not have to dig in mail for it.

  13. Disable sound notifications on Android

Atm it's impossible to turn off the sound notifications for the android app. It's either get all notifications including sound, or turn off everything. This is super annoying, my phone keeps beeping with every new email, I don't need that kind of distraction and it's disturbing everyone around me!

  14. Resizable left pane

Can we please have a sizeable left pane in the mail web and desktop app. It's very frustrating not being able to read long folder names.

This would enhance the experience and make it a lot easier to manage emails. There is already a sizeable pane for the email message itself, so hopefully this could be incorporated quite easily.

    I would greatly appreciate this.

    Thank you.

  16. Using physical security keys

You sent me an email this morning about passkeys. Well, what about physical security keys? I bought two of them last week from Amazon. I got them to work with iCloud. I'd like them to work with Proton Mail, too.
    Thanks.

  17. Change zoom in desktop app

In the browser for Proton Mail I prefer to use a 90% view size to see everything better, as well as in Proton Calendar, where I use e.g. a 70% view to see more events and more text that would otherwise be hidden.

  18. Whitelist only option

The option to auto block/trash/spam all emails except the whitelist.

It's a spam/phishing-proof email setup (new product category?).

I do this with the sieve filters already, but there's not a convenient, quick UI to whitelist emails or do it in bulk.

Email aliases are great. Except I have to keep creating and deleting them which itself gets very tedious. Especially when the auto-fill option of a signup field doesn't pop up.

  19. Local storage for desktop app

Having the ability to also store messages locally in folders using a standard file format would be helpful. As a current Mozilla Thunderbird user, I store messages both on the Proton servers and locally for archive purposes. Being able to create folders in either locations with simple transferring between them would bring me much closer to no longer needing Thunderbird.

  20. Multiple Inboxes

The only feature that keep me on gmail vs. protonmail is the multiple inbox organization (not related to different addresses - underlying for a new post). The creation of multiple inboxes is extremely powerful to implement "Getting things done"-like methodology (ex.: https://dansilvestre.com/gtd-gmail/) and improve significantly my productivity.
I am looking forward for this feature in Protonmail.
