1. Add 'state' field to contact addresses

Address fields do not include a dedicated field to enter contacts State of residence. For US contacts we need address filed 1, address field 2, City, State and Zip code

2. DEL keyboard shortcut to delete

It would be nice to be able to specify which key sends a message to the trash. In Outlook, I'm used to hitting the Delete key to delete a message, and I'd like to be able to do that instead of use T.

3. Restore original URL when email using Amazon SES tracking link

I noticed a lot more services use the click tracking provided by Amazon SES now, where the original URL is encoded inside an awstrack.me URL. Can you restore the original URL when I follow a link in a mail?

4. Additional swipe gestures on Android

I'd like to have 4 x swipe configurable gestures available on the Android app v4:
- Short right gesture with color #1 background, e.g: Read/Unread.
- Long right gesture with color #2 background, e.g: Delete.
- Short left gesture with color #3 background, e.g: Move.
- Long right gesture with color #4 background, e.g: Archive.

Available actions for gestures would be at least:
- Archive
- Delete
- Star/Unstar
- Move
- Label
- Read/Unread
- Spam

Background colors will be associated with gestures or actions. I tend to think the latter would be preferred for most users.

5. Keep most recent email in Inbox when creating a filter

Need to create an option that allows you to keep the most recent email in the inbox, and move the rest to folder when creating filter. That way you see new emails in inbox, but all your old ones get moved per filter.

Can you develop the ability to search directly in attachments to emails?
Having switched from Gmail to Proton, I sorely miss this feature.

8. Turn off notifications on Linux

I have just installed the Proton Mail App on my Linux Mint. I never had any notifications on, but suddenly, I get a notification for every email.

I don't want that - please add a setting in All settings to enable me to turn off desktop notifications.

As far as I know, Linux Mint doesn't have it's own per-app setting for notifications.

9. Easy Switch improvements

I tried to import emails from a specific website in my Gmail to Proton but I can't do that. It would be a really helpful option if that were possible.

Right now the only way to have that as an option is to import a specific label. So, I can create a new, unique label for emails from that website and then import just that label.

However, there is no easy way to find that label when importing. I have over 100 labels and I have to manually unselect each just to import one label.

Options like "unselect all labels"…

12. Allow snooze for any email/conversation, not just those in Inbox

Right now, the snooze function only applies to emails that have arrived in the inbox. It would be very useful to also be able to snooze emails elsewhere if follow-up is needed. For example, if I originated an email to someone and it's in the Sent folder, I may want to follow up a week later if there has not been a response. Snoozing to have this bump back up in my own inbox would be very helpful in that case.

13. Create folder (RFC5490) with sieve filter

https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5490.html allows to test if a folder exists, and to create it in a sieve filter. This could f.e be used to automatically create subfolders for subscribed mailing lists, online accounts, github repository notifications, and so on.

14. Easier access to filters

If I want to create a new filter or update an existing one, as it stands, I have to click settings, then click the real settings, load a new page, then click filters. THEN, after I've done what I needed, I have to reload the inbox. That's a lot of hassle just to make sure new letters are getting labeled and sorted properly!

Ideally, I should be able to copy an address from my inbox and put it in my filters without reloading the page. If possible, I would like an icon somewhere on the inbox page that pops out…

15. Font consistency between mobile and desktop

The mobile application (Android Proton Mail app 4.0.5) composes emails in the Inter font. We have no choice. That is the font provided.

The desktop application (Proton Mail 5.0.36.17 Beta) supplies us with a number of font options, but none of which are Inter.

I like consistency of output. Can you please include Inter as a font option for the desktop application since that is the font we are forced to use for mobile? (Note: Inter is a good font if you have to default to something, so I give you that.)

Thanks.

16. Automated folder filtering during Easy Switch

Setting up Gmail forwarding as a new user to Proton almost made me quit the platform, it was so daunting to have that much data thrown at me. Setting up an easy transition like a dedicated Gmail forwarding folder option would make the transition alot easier for new users. Or predetermined filters that new users could setup, for example anything Social media related is filtered into a folder along with anything on a newsletter list.

17. Allow download only option for PDFs

When it was requested, you did not give us the opportunity to preview PDFs, you FORCED us to preview them. I do not and never want to preview PDFs, as I ONLY use my pdf software to view PDFs. Now, you MUST preview it before you download it. I have had nothing but problems by closing protonmail entirely due to your poor interface with the PDF previewer closer when I try to close the PDF, I keep hitting the "close preview window" button, but it's also the "close PM" button. I frankly hate this new "feature," which borders on a…

18. Separate Options to Enable Auto-Delete for Trash & Spam

My usecase here is I only want mail deleted that I have intentionally marked for deletion. Since spam can sometimes be valid emails that were mistakenly marked as spam, I don't want those to be automatically deleted. Contrasting that, I want mail that I put in the trash to be deleted after 30 days.

Having separate toggles for these would allow for automatic deletion of trash, but not for spam.

19. Customize email notifications per product

I'd like to be able to control notifications for email separately from notifications for calendar. On both MacOS and iOS, I only see one place to configure notifications and it affects both mail and calendar. If I must receive a notification for every single email, then to avoid this continuous distraction, I'm forced to disable notifications altogether, meaning I won't receive any notifications for my calendar appointments.

Additionally, whether or not to see the red unread message count overlayed on my Proton Mail icon in MacOS should be configurable. That's another unneeded distraction.

20. Send encrypted email without password (user clicks a link to respond)

Why can you only send a Password-protected Emails? It should be optional for receiver to just click a link. That way its easier for them, and the secure message can still expire..
