Save data in local storage like Thunderbird (Windows app)
Protonmail windows app is not really different with web app and everytime I use it, it takes a long time to load. Like thunderbird, sync it background and save data local.

Option to Create Filter When Creating New Address/Alias
When a user creates a new address or alias for their default, show an option for that user to create a filter for that alias (or add to an existing filter). Essentially a shortcut to the existing process of creating/adding to filters that makes it easier, especially for less tech-savvy users.

Attach public key in Bridge OR sharing folders in Mail apps
Hi,
I'm using Apple Mail with Proton Mail Bridge because in the Proton Mail App (as well as with Proton Web) it is not possible to move mails between mail folders of different Proton accounts. This can easily be done in Apple Mail.
Nonetheless I'd love to be able to attach my public key. A feature only available in the Proton apps and lacking in Apple Mail on the other hand. Would you mind considering to add this feature to Proton Bridge?

Ability to set default browser for links in ProtonMail
It would be great if the ProtonMail app settings included the ability to define which browser opens links contained in emails. I would like ProtonMail links to open in a browser that is different than my OS system default browser.

Deadman's Switch
Add a "deadmans switch". In case something happens to you, Proton sends an email to certain contacts at a certain time period. This would be awesome to have.

In the box confirming the opening of a link contained in e-mails, that the mail client presents to users when they clicks on links (“Link confirmation”), the mail client should present, in addition to the “original link”, the “real link” (aka the final destination link - having remotely pre-processed all link redirections of the “original link” and having obtained the final “real link”) allowing the user to choose whether to follow the “original” or the “real” link in the browser.

Ability to create a quick rule in the menu when clicking on an email address
When I click on an email address when viewing an email, I get options. I'd like for some of them to be quick rules, like "add tag", "move to folder", "mark as read", etc.

Update window for desktop app should identify itself
A standalone notification window just appeared out of nowhere in the middle of my screen - without saying what is sending it.
Since such behavior is super suspicious and could be coming from any malicious software, for precaution I had to use System Informer to check where is this window coming from.
Not sure if this is an update 'feature' of electronjs, however, it has to be fixed. I have huge stack of apps running on my system. It's nice to understand who is whistling at the time. Could be bad ETs. :)

Editor : expand vertically
Right now we have two options for the editor :
either a tiny windows at the bottom of the screen
or its expanded version that takes all the screenIt lacks an intermediate solution. For example I like to have my editor on the left and the email i'm responding to on the right. I would like to be able to expand the editor vertically, in order for it to take ~100% of window's height.

Allow the use of a self-generated PGP key without having to upload the private key
ProtonMail currently expects me to upload the full keypair instead of allowing uploading just the public key.
This makes it overly difficult to use just one self-generated keypair. To the extent that this feels intentional so that ProtonMail would have the private keys.

Ability to set specific emails for Auto Forwarding
Currently, it's just a toggle for Auto Forwarding, but if I have a personal and business email on the same Proton account, there's no way for me to set Auto Forwarding for only my business email.

Setting to unfold email chains
I have a lot of forum emails (which is great, I don't want to change this). But if I haven't been keeping up with the discussion, I have to individually tap on each new message in the chain to read it.
Moreover, unexpanded messages are marked as unread, but if I open the chain, then I consider that to have "read" the chain.
It would be great if new messages could be expanded by default. It's a little thing, but it's driving me wild- a setting for this behavior would be much appreciated

Show what filters apply to this email
It would be great to look at an email and see what filters apply to it.
For example an email skips the inbox and goes straight to a folder, or is automatically marked as 'read' or starred, but it might not be obvious why, so having an indicator saying what filtered this email like that could be great.2 votes -
Get rid if app tracking
According to my app tracking protection,the Proton mail app is sending tracking information to Adobe. Being a privacy centric company, I am assuming this issue slipped through the cracks during android app development.
I can't possibly be the first person who noticed this.
Is proton willingly allowing third parties to collect my personal information from my Android phone? Is Proton aware of these third-party trackers? Do I need to delete the app and switch to accessing Proton mail only via the web app?

change sending email based on recipient
Hello, I think it would be very useful that the Email / alias used to send an email from can be set by a rule based on the recipient of the Email. As a concrete example: In my line of work I have exactly one Email-address for communicating my business partner, and all Emails should be sent from this one address. Each time I am writing an Email (or even when clicking on certain links in their message to open an answer) I have to manually select the address I have to sent the email from. Use @passmail.com domain
Another similar request was made here:

User selected columns & Sorting in Proton Mail
Please add the ability for users to select what columns are displayed in the Mail App, particularly in the windows version. Perhaps one could right click on the header to see a list off all possible columns and select the ones to be displayed. Users should be able to adjust the width of each column. Clicking on the header of a column should re-sort the entire list by that field.

show multiple full label on desktop
If an email has multiple labels on it it is currently displayed as
[label 1] [+1]
Whereas I'd prefer it show the full labels
[label 1] [label 2] etc.
It currently does this on mobile (iOS)
