    It would be very useful to be able to associate different display names with different aliases.

  2. Lock down the mobile app.

    Please lock down mobile app every time it goes out of sight. If it stores encryption password and uses it automatically, it's OK, but it should ask for system password every time it appears in sight. Fingerprint usage would be nice, but even without it, it will be secure. Right now I touch the icon and thats it. Not very secure. SIMSme does it right.

  3. Show the number of failed logins

    Would be great if there was an option to see how many times someone failed to log in since the last successful log in. This could help to keep the account private because you know if someone tries to get into your account.

  4. Hotkeys for Navigating Emails, Starting Emails, and Moving Between Folders

    In Gmail, one can use hotkeys to navigate through emails, start email compositions, move between folders, and many other things. I rarely use the mouse when working in Gmail. I would very much like the same functionality here.

    Make it possible to indicate custom domain email address as 'main' address and have it as default when composing new emails from the web interface.

  6. 4096 bit RSA keys instead of 2048 bit

    Currently, 2048 bit PGP keys are used to encrypt emails. While this is secure now, it won't be in the future. 1024 bit keys are already considered within the range of being breakable. Someday, probably within the next 10 years as technology advances, 2048 bit keys will also become breakable. When this happens, adversaries will be able to decrypt everything. Some adversaries save encrypted copies of all messages, waiting for the day they'll be able to break keys so they can go back and decrypt messages from the past.   7. I would like to be able to access earlier messages

    I've been using email since 1995, and never before have I run into a web mail service that apparently does not allow access to messages prior to those shown on the initial Inbox screen.

    Am I missing something? Is there a way to get to earlier messages that I'm not seeing?

    Please see the arrows in the upper right hand corner of your page (below your name). These arrows will allow you to navigate to other pages of emails. There should be a “1” in between the arrows. You can also click this one to pick the specific page you would like to jump to.

  8. A #real #attachments #manager

    Attachments: for a better managing of files in & out, could be a good idea having an area named:
    ATTACHMENT"S BANK or
    FILES BANK SAFEBOX.
    Somehow people value more their attachments either email body content, so what is the real meaning of emails if not because the attachments????
    But if you afford this BANK or FILES SAFEBOX or similar names, why do not go further???
    GO FURTHER:
    After creating that BANK for files and attachments, allow the user to have every contact name with its own attachments separating files IN and Files OUT (or sent). That could be real WOW…

    You will see this functionality under the “Advanced Search” option below the search window. Once you click on this you will be able to select “Contains Attachment” and select any other parameters you wish to search by.

  9. Why can we not upload and send more than 15 mb? Are we back in the 90s for ever?

    Think protomail is great in many ways. But it is getting sort of useless when sharing photo and sound with upload limit to 15 mb only.

  10. How about the possibility of developing multiple grouping boxes or filters to group mails? Not by conversation, by contact or organization.

    I wanted to be able to group all my mails related to work, or my researches into a single separated box, just to keep track of them in a less messy environment.

  12. Support HTML5 web notifications for incoming emails

    Some services like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Web, Skype and others send standardised HTML5 web notifications when new messages arrive. Chrome, Firefox and Safari have been supporting this for quite some time. The notifications happen locally and only as long as website is opened (e.g. in a tab) and the user is logged in. ProtonMail should support it too so that users are notified when new emails have arrived.

  13. Bring back Protonmail.ch

    You just changed all my logon automation by redirecting protomail.ch to protonmail.com without ANY announcement. Why not change it back?

  14. Show me the last time I logged in.

    It is always good to know if you really are the only one person who uses the login. Keyloggers etc. make it possible to hack your account.

  15. PLease supply am simple Home page without an Inbox distraction, show mountain only.

    Please show a more simplified Home Page, no Inbox or invitation. A mountain with a strong Key as a symbol would look great. Present page being received here in NZ shows a part of an Inbox and busy distracting page which comes across as unprofessional...

  17. No Recycling Username: The privacy of the user must be protected all the time! Forever!

    I think that it's very important that a username can't be recycled after some time that is not used.

    For example:

    • outlook after 1 year recycle and reassingn the username
    • yahoo after 6 month recycle username and reassign it to a new user

    I think that is very important protect the privacy of the people, and recycling username is a risky practice.

    Yahoo in past has created a privacy concerns for the practice of recycling username of email address that are not used.

    Accounts created before January 1, 2016 have both protonmail.com and protonmail.ch addresses. You can change between the two in the settings of your account. You can create a new account with protonmail.com domain when you originally create your account by selecting that domain from the drop down menu.
