  1. Faster folder switching

protonmail on Android 12; currently when i select another folder, the new folder header will show, but the mails from previous folder remain visible until decoding is finished, this to me is confusing. possible to at least clear the screen in the time it takes to decode? possible to load decoded mails as soon as decoded?

  2. create new filter that only apply to inbox and not all existing emails

When I have a filter then I can apply to all existing emails. This is great but when I create a new filter then I would like to only apply to arriving new mails as well as to the so far not categorized/moved mails, so those which are still in INBOX. Would it be possible to have another possibility to apply existing mails in INBOX?

  3. Support and provide information for older macOS

I am a paying customer and wish to remain one. But Proton Bridge for Proton Mail is currently only for Big Sur and above, and I am using an older version, v. 3.0.21 of Bridge. I get a message to update it but I am scared to because I have zero idea if it will download the last supported version for my system or else the newest thing which is (supposedly) not supported. Bridge is working for me and I do not want to break it. And I have no idea which version is okay for my Mac and where…

  4. Limit number of registered Proton emails allowed on paid accounts

If you have a paid account there is no limit to how many additional Proton email addresses you can register (@proton.me, @pm.me, etc).

There should be a limit so one user cannot register hundreds of good usernames just so other people cannot have them.

  5. Add star feature next to emails in mailbox

Add an empty/blank star ⭐ next to emails on the mailbox on mobile app (Android).

Just like Gmail where you can tap on the star and it will be gold-filled letting you know the email has been starred.

Instead of having to go into the email itself and then tapping on the star.

  6. Proton Pass Yubikey support

So the new Proton Password manager is great n all but it needs better security on the browser extension.
No Yubikey (or similar) support, using a pin to unlock rather than say a pass phase. Thankfully the app has biometrics.

  7. Dissociate / Transfert an alias from a Proton Mail Account to anorher one

Be able to extract an alias from a Proton Mail  Account and associate it to another Proton Mail Account (already existing or to be created).

Alternative : Be able to access by password the mails linked to one alias but not the other alias of the Mail Accounts. My problem is that I want to share my alias to different users (typical contact@company.com) but I don't wznt these users to habr access to my password or the mails received from the other alias.

    EXample : My Proton Mail Account has 3 alias : original.alias@protonmail.com alias2@protonmail.com alias3@pm.me

Proton unlimited offers more e-mail options and features. I would like to be able to use those, even if subscription fee was a bit higher.

  9. Increase size of dialogue box when moving an email to a folder

When you go to file an email into a folder, please make longer the box that pops up listing all your mail folders. I dislike having to scroll to my target folder, or entering characters to bring its name up, I want to just be able to see them all on one dialog, and click on the target folder

  10. Better general support sending encrypted mail outside of protonmail

What currently exists appears to be sufficient, but it is not nearly as good as it could be. I have seen other posts that request these ideas before, and I would like to amalgamate them here.

Lookup public keys through external services, such as keys.openpgp.org

Safety indicator to ensure the e-mail you are sending is encrypted when sending to non protonmail contacts

Allowing encryption to be managed with an external application through proton bridge, (including a confirmation dialog on proton bridge to prevent accidentally sending unencrypted e-mail)

Any of the above ideas would enhance the experience that is currently available,…

  12. Ability to Select Addresses for "Attach Public PGP Key"

The Attach Public PGP Key should allow you to select which addresses you attach the public key to. As a minimum, it should allow you to select at least 1 address to exclude from having the PGP key attached.

I use the "SimpleLogin" functionality with my proton account to generate random aliases in order to protect my email address. Whenever I reply to an email via the reverse alias the system adds my public PGP key giving away my true address.

If I could select which addresses had the key attached or, alternatively, could specify 1 "catch all address" for…

  14. Unlimited aliases for custom domains

I need tous and of aliases in order to create one email address per website.
I have a custom domain and I enabled catch-all. So I can receive emails to unlimited possibilities of aliases.
But I can't answer to these emails with the alias address. So I have to create an alias in my proton mail.
The first problem is the number of aliases I can create.

So I need to create unlimited aliases in proton or to delete aliases and recreate them later if I need without lose all the emails sent to this alias in my mailbox.

    This…

  15. Add private note to emails in Inbox

An ability to attach a note (also encrypted, naturally) to one of the emails in my mailboxes, just for personal use in tracking the reason behind a message, or what I have done in relation to any particular email, would be a tremendously useful feature! Please bring us a way to attach one or more notes (preferably with timestamps on when each was made) to any email in our mailboxes! Thank you!

  16. Make "Recently Used" and "Often Used" folders the default listings at the top of the list when moving e-mails to folders

When MOVING an e-mail, default "Recently Used" and "Often Used" folders to the top. Yahoo mail, my former provider, did this and it was quite useful.

  17. Send summary of new emails to another address

I would like ProtonMail to send to another email address a summary (object, from, date/hour) of new emails to another email address.

ProtonMail is blocked on my professional computer, as any other Email system, because the only authorized one is the institution's one (because cybersecurity). ProtonMail is my "stable" professional address (since I will not always be there, had happened once). To know that I have new emails here, I have rerouted all my emails to this authorized mail. This is overkill, since I will never answer them outside from proton. So a simple hourly, daily or more summary email…

  19. Black lock icon is useless and misleading

Currently Proton is displaying a black lock icon when the email is "stored with zero-access encryption", which is the worst case when using Proton Mail, since all emails are stored this way on Proton.

The icon becomes blue when the email is sent or received securely with the recipients/sender (green when PGP).

It'd be less misleading to have no icon at all in the case of the standard case (stored with zero-access encryption), and keep the blue (or green for PGP) icons in the other case.

It'd also makes Proton Mail more accessible to people having difficulties to distinguish the…
