  1. I want to see the email as I am typing out a response

    It just opens to a new draft window in front of the email in the inbox, and because of that, I am not able to see the email, even the first full line to respond to it. Something like two separate columns or rows, where I can scroll and see the email I am responding to, without having to close the draft window each time. At least an optoin to resize the draft window.

  2. Allow default back navigation using mouse and keyboard

    As a user, I want to be able to easily go back to previous page using the typical back button.
    The back button can be on the mouse(e.g. Logi MX series) or CMD+Back Arrow on keyboard.
    This behavior works fine in the browser, but does not work in the desktop app.

  5. Add all organization users as contacts for all users

    I think it is fairly common to need to email other people from your organization on a regular/frequent basis. As such, it would be nice if there was a way to make it so that all users in an organization automatically get added to the contacts for all the other users. Then for example, when a new person starts, their contacts are already populated with the people that they might need to email.

  6. limit content search local cache to a date

    Currently content search in email (search in email body) is only provided when a local copy of your emails is downloaded to browser cache.
    This doesn’t work properly large email boxes: cache download takes too long, size is too big and search isn’t working smoothly.
    When Search Message Content is enabled please add option to allow me to set a date limit. I have a 19 year old email archive of >60k emails. Estimated time of downloading is >700 minutes. If it’ll fit in the limited browser local storage charge at all.

  8. Forward multiple past emails in a single email

    There are instances when you need to send multiple past emails to someone, but they are all in separate threads or with different subjects. It would be incredibly helpful to select and forward/send these emails together all combined into one email.

  9. Allow UI zoom for desktop application

    As a user, I want to be able to zoom into and out of the reading pane, so I can more easily see the text of my emails.

    Rationale: Presently, the application seems to default to desktop resolution but the UI and text are very small and I cannot increase them. Being older and having poor eyesight, this makes it very difficult to use the desktop application. In contrast, using the webmail interface, you can easily increase the zoom as needed to make things readable.

  10. Backup Email

    It is essential to have the option to export emails from a range of dates, e.g. all emails from 1-1-2025 to 31-1-2025

    This was possible with the import/export tool but I don't see it in the new tool. Please include this ASAP!

  11. Support for Norwegian characters ÆØÅ in email address

    Hi!
    I am a native Norwegian and I get a lot of junk email from Norwegian companies. Some of these have the letters Æ, Ø or Å in their email address or domain, but Proton Mail custom junk filters doesn't allow me to filter out these due to these characters/letters.

  12. Allow to filter emails by alias

    The user should be allowed to filter their emails in the mailbox based on each email alias they're having. Like the folders feature, but instead of creating a category, the email alias would be the filter.

  13. "Archive" button in between "Spam" and "Trash" is a disaster

    I missed an important appointment today (partially) because of Protonmail UI.

    Right now on the Protonmail website, the archive button is placed between two much harsher actions: Trash and Spam.

    I've just experienced a case where an important message was marked as Spam. It meant the conversation, all replies, and even separate messages from the sender skipped my inbox.

    I remember getting the email thread in my inbox. So it's not entirely Protonmail's fault. But I'm guessing what happened is on the mobile website I accidentally tapped "Spam" button somehow, instead of Archive, and the whole thread and sender were…

    New Filter Condition

    When a customer creates or edits a filter function, s/he can select from which folders the filter should work.

    In other words: apply Filter only to selected folders e.g. filter only Inbox, or custom.

  17. Don't group e-mails if there is a certain time in between them

    Currently Proton Mail groups e-mails based on sender and subject regardless of when it was sent. This makes it difficult to distinguish between different threads.

    For example, if I order something with my favourite webshop it sends me a generic confirmation mail with the same subject. They are all grouped together.

    My suggestion would be if there is >24 hours between the e-mails, they are treated seperately. Similar to what Gmail also does.

  18. Add attachments stored on Proton Drive, directly in a Proton mail message

    Add the ability to attach an attachment that is stored on your Proton Drive, directly into an e-mail drafted in Proton mail.
    This removes the need to first download the attachment on your laptop and will also make attaching files on mobile devices much easier.

  19. Order labels in selection dropdown by selected first then other labels

    Add the ability to sort labels in the dropdwon by used labels first then all the others.

    Either by giving us an option to enable this or doing this by default.

    It makes sense to show the selected labels first because when you are changing labels on a mail / thread and want to remove some they need to be visible which ones are used. Else we are just trying to find each and every one of them by typing the names.

  20. Option to hide account email in UI

    When logged into Proton usually the my account email is shown in various places (for example, in Mail, it is in the upper-right hand corner of the app under the email label)

    I would like an option to mask the account email. For example: johnwick@proton.me would be johxxxck@proton.me or johxxxxx@proton.me

    This would ensure that spying eyes can't know my full email address for my account.

    Alternatively, hiding the account email in the UI is also sufficient since all email identities come with a display name, and that display name could replace or be shown in replace of the email ID…
