24:00 notation for iOS
In Calendar is only a PM /AM time notation now. I prefer the 24 hours notation (International Standard ISO 8601 )
thanks
Important: this feature is already available on WEB and ANDROID.
Planned for iOS
For web: go to Settings > Account > Language and time > Time format
For Android in the sidebar go to Settings > General > Time format

Allowing ProtonMail to override the browser language/region would be much appreciated.

ISO 8601 is the way.

I'm not sure that regional settings on the client are the right way to go, both for privacy reasons and because a user might need to use a different client with unfamiliar settings from time to time.
On the other hand, having the ability to set "my" default date and time format (and timezone, while we're at it) in my account settings would be a big win. (And yes, ISO 8601 should definitely be an option...)

Protonmail should at least follow regional settings configured on the client

Why is this even a thing?!?! Even minor sites all over web offer choice for date/time format! This American thing is confusing and wrong way round... And, most of the world doesn't use that format! Please, change this!!!

Why is a global email service stuck on an American date format? It's very confusing especially since everything else on my computer is dd/mm/yy and 24 hr format. Is it really that hard to provide options? Apparently this has been going on for years.

It is ridiculous that this has not been fixed yet. Being stuck on the US format is a major flaw in the user experience for everyone not from the US. I know several people I have warned against using the web client because of this. If for some reason making the format fully customizable is too much of a hassle for you right now, for the love of god give us an ISO 8601 option at least.

Please change this ASAP, it's even funnier because the ProtonMail interface is now in my own language (Dutch) and we don't use AM and PM at all!

Damaging faux par re date format - why American format? 01/08 is first of August, not 8th Jan in Australia. Why no option to display by country or preference? Please do your magic PM :)

Mmm.. We're waiting for this since 2015. At least stop torturing me with am/pm time.

I vote for this: it's strange considering that it doesn't seem like an hard feature to implement, comparing to other ones.

I want his feature!! DD.MM.YYYY and 24h.
The american format confuses me, and I constantly think that I have sent emails at 8:10 and not at 20:10.
Also I just looked at another email received at the 11/8/18, which first made me think "the 11th is tomorrow", and then "I did not get this in August", till I finally realised what is happening. Please implement this.

Yes please, YYYY-MM-DD is the ISO standard date format. Make it switchable for the courtesy of American users.
Also 24 hours time format please. I see things like 12:37 PM. Is that 0:37 the next day??

It would be very helpful to at least be able to switch between 12 hour and 24 hour formats.
Such an option is commonplace in other software and hardware. The same logic should apply to date formats to enable users to select their preferred format

This is a dealbreaker for me. Just became a paying customer, this would not have happened if I knew that this basic functionality was lacking.
Did not even think about researching this. Why on earth isn't this an option? It works fine on the cellphone.
Switzerland, where Protonmail is based, is using the 24h format as well.
Most of the world uses the 24 hr format, it is OK if AM/PM is standard, and 24h as an option.
If I install a random app that doesn't support 24 hr and dd-mm-yyyy or yyyy-mm-dd format, I uninstall it. I'll just have to see if I can live with this backwards way of displaying important info until my subscription is up for renewal. Really hope this is fixed soon as Protonmail seems to be perfect in other regards.
NB: This is just as annoying as having a car with mph on the speedo, and all speed limits are posted in kmh, or having a GPS with miles as distance unit, and you live in a country that uses km.

I realize this is not the most important feature to work on but it should be so easy to implement. Being stuck with am/pm is especially irritating; if you have to use one date and time format for all your worldwide customers, at least make it ISO 8601 (yyyy-mm-dd with 24h time).

Protonmail should adjust the date format to the standard that is mostly used worlwide . The most used standard is Day Month Year DMY and NOT the US format MDY- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country
Thank you ProtonMail team for the improvements. -

I'd love to change the 12-hour format to the 24-hour clock...
