Split address mode - separate emails into different inboxes
Separate email addresses are for separate things so it would be helpful to just click an email address from the menu and see only those emails sent to that specific ProtonMail address.
Multiple inboxes.
We are reviewing this idea to get closer to a clean inbox for all our users. We will let you know once we have more updates

Having the leeway to use multiple addresses for the same inbox is really important in my eyes as it provides a secure way to use an alias and still see it all collected in the same place. However, not having the ability to choose to keep them separate in their own inboxes (i.e different email inboxes for the same account) feels like you guys went halfway with it and then called it good. Giving the user the choice to disable the forwarding for the alias address to the main address and instead grant access to that email's inbox as its own would be really great, since it would play to the strengths of an already existing feature, and coincide with the two group of people who enjoy the alias feature as-is, and the group of people who question why they aren't separate inboxes.
By default they could be simple aliases that forward to the main address upon creation; no changes there. Then, you could also include a "convert to inbox" feature in the alias address's settings, which would disable whatever forwarding it's using and create a new isolated inbox for it.
Purchasing a subscription for 5 email addresses when in reality they only function as aliases is almost there; great for about half of the people, who want it all in one place. Just not super friendly for the other half of everyone who wants the capability to separate them and use them as actual functioning standalone email addresses.

Have Colour graphics and when there are two separate email accounts clearly show that they are separate and apart. Right now I'm so confused as to what's coming in to what email address and it's all grey it's awful!
Make it easier on the eye and more efficient to use please. -

Although, as one Anonymous commenter points out, Bridge has combined/separate addresses, but I believe it gives the client (that runs Bridge) access to all your addresses on Proton servers. This has necessitated me to downgrade my personal PM account, so that I could create a separate paid account for my custom domain. (I need to give my hosting server SMTP access in order to send registration and password-change confirmation emails to my customers. I do not care to give said server access to my personal email.) Can't afford two paid subscriptions, so I'm stuck with Free for my primary personal email. :( --> FEATURE REQUEST: separate credentials for each address for Bridge (at least as an option). I have no idea how difficult this would be to get right; probably quite difficult unfortunately...

Filter on Address is cumbersome. In Android app, you have to type the name. Separate inboxes for each address within the account would make the simple fact that multiple addresses are allowed within one paid account much more usable.

I too have a need for separate inboxes. That would make using ProtonMail so much better.

This feature is crucial. Otherwise, why have multiple email addresses.

Why is there no way to organize by alias email addresses? I would not have signed up for this feature if I knew this would be the case.

This is important to me also, the functionality is available in the desktop bridge which gives you the option of combined or separate inboxes.

ProtonMail Plus currently dumps all emails for all of the user's multiple addresses/aliases into the same inbox window, showing only the subject line and the recipient name. This is problematic for those using different email addresses for different purposes.
The service would be significantly improved by the simple ability to toggle the view to show mails only for a single email address at a time in the main window. It seems that something like this should be easily accomplished, since presumably system knows the address the email was directed to. So it seems that there should be the ability to put a pull-down menu, checkboxes or some other control that would enable you to see only the messages to one address or another in your account.
If this couldn't be done, at least the address that the email was sent to should be shown in the display, so that one can distinguish between the addresses in this way. It shouldn't be necessary to apply a label to all of your messages for a basic function like this, in my view.

Bridge allows either combined or separate address mode, I'd like to see this in the mobile version as well.
As a visionary customer I have the ability to use up to 10 custom domains, but it seems rather silly to route all of the addresses to the same folders. I get that your business model might be to force customers to create and pay for separate accounts in order to have unique folders, but then why offer a visionary plan that allows multiple domains and addresses only to combine them into the same folder.

In the Protonmail App (IOS, Android) you should be able to choose analogous to the mail clients like Outlook etc., whether you want to see all email addresses of your own account in a common inbox etc. (called combined addresses mode in the mail clients like Outlook) or whether you want to have the email addresses of your own account displayed separately (called split addresses mode in the mail clients like Outlook). Currently you can see in the Protonmail app only all mails of the email addresses of your own paid account in a common inbox etc. and not splitted by the different email addresses.

For users who have multiple such as myself, we need the ability to list and use each one individually. Currently, they can all be added but each shows up as the primary account, not the actual account. using the "ALL MAIL" option is not helpful and is very cluttered and confusing. I move one to trash and it still shows in the ALL MAIL tab. It's all very confusing to us new users and it will send people back to where they came. We need the ability to visibly see each individual account and use each account individually. If I want to check each one separately, I need to be able to do that. I see this has been an issue for several years now that has not been acknowledged or addressed but it needs to be in order to make your product more user friendly and attractive to potential new users.

separate inboxes for each address seems like a simple much-needed no brainer. even the quite limited apple mail has options for viewing all or each inbox. HUGE help with organizing emails!

Absolutely a must. Seems to be a basic feature that isn't here.

virtually every email program allows you to separately view inbox for each email address, in addition to the general inbox-why not proton?

I agree with the above comments. I just assumed this capability would exist when I signed up and actually quite surprised it doesn't exist. Its a must.
