  1. Better VPN Compatibility With Government Services

I think it would be useful if Proton VPN could improve compatibility with government apps and online services. There are situations where users want to keep their VPN enabled while completing important tasks, but some services do not always work smoothly with a VPN connection. For example, people using the eGovPH app for NBI Clearance renewal may need to switch their VPN off during the process, even though they would prefer to keep their connection protected. I came across the renewal process at https://onlinenbiclearance.ph/nbi-clearance-renewal-egovph-app/ while looking into how these services work, and it made me think that better compatibility with…

  2. burner numbers

Can Proton VPN add a feature so we can add a burner number when needed, so we can make calls anonymously to
keep our primary number hidden and our conversations untraceable, ensuring our identity always stays protected?

  3. Check Traffic Challan Online with Ease

Keeping track of traffic fines is an important part of responsible vehicle ownership. Instead of waiting for a paper notice or visiting a traffic office, drivers can use online resources to learn how eChallan systems work, understand traffic violation records, and review information about checking challan status. Online guides can also explain common terms, the details typically included in a challan, and the general process for verifying traffic fine information. Staying informed helps drivers respond to legitimate notices on time and maintain accurate vehicle records.

If you're looking for a simple guide to understanding eChallan services and traffic fine checks,…

  4. ProtonVPN CLI on Boot (systemd)

    Launching ProtonVPN on Boot

Linux users often uses a dedicated machine to store local services.
It is very important for us to have the ability to enable VPN and Killswitch feature before connecting to Internet.

Actually, It is possible to configure a systemd service using Wireguard config or OpenVPN config but no KillSwitch feature is ready "out of the box", but It would be very nice to have an OpenVPN CLI that can be used on systemd.

  5. ProtonVPN Extension Login Change

When you login into the ProtonVPN Extension it would be better if it did not log into all other Proton services (Mail, Drive etc.) on the web. If you're only using that.

It should only log into the extension alone. I'm sure users will agree this is better in general for security.

  8. We’re still using Windows 7 (or Windows 10) – so what?

We’re still using Windows 7 – so what? It’s none of your business; let us use the VPN version we’ve paid for.
What’s the problem? All you need to do is let us use the latest compatible version we’ve paid for. Especially as I’ve read that you’re also going to ban Windows 10 users soon. Microsoft is using underhand tactics and you’re just going along with it? What’s got into you?

  9. Preventing Fake AI influencers across multiple platforms

With the rise of AI , fake influencers are targeting the market. Most of these "experts" or "real life stories" dont exist. If proton had an option to filter or block AI vs real products it would be great. I know this wouldn't be an easy task, but with so many being targeted by AI , Proton could provide security from what is real vs generated.

  12. Proton VPN ZTNA, and Bandwidth sharing

I'd love a native Proton app/feature for outbound connections from my home router, with four independent options I can turn on or off separately:

Access my own network – securely reach my home devices (NAS, cameras, etc.) from anywhere, without opening any inbound ports on my router/firewall.

Share my bandwidth – let my home connection help Proton's network (extra exit capacity), fully opt-in.

Hairpin my mobile traffic through home – route my phone's traffic back through my home internet connection when I'm out, so it looks like I'm browsing from home.

VPN out specific LAN devices – pick one or…

  14. Why on earth would you ban the use of your unlimited paid VPN in Windows 7?

As far as I know, even though Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7, we can still use it at our own risk!
What’s gotten into you to act even worse than they do?
Why not let us use your VPN?
What’s in it for you to arbitrarily cut us off? Pressure from Microsoft? A business agreement?

  15. Manual Port selection

    Hi Team,

I would like to request an optional manual port selection feature for WireGuard (UDP/TCP) and other supported protocols.

For IPTV users, network performance can vary significantly depending on the port being used. Some ISPs throttle or prioritize traffic differently, and being able to switch between server-supported ports (e.g., UDP 53, 80, 443, 51820, etc.) could greatly improve streaming stability and reduce buffering.

The current Auto mode should remain the default, but an Advanced option for manual port selection would be extremely valuable for power users.

For example, Windscribe VPN already offers an optional manual port selection feature directly…

  16. On the browser extension make it so that you can do a VPN for only certain sites.

On the browser extension make it so that you can do a VPN for only certain sites. For example, I have a domain that is blocked by my ISP even though 1) I own it 2) It is safe (it is blocked because it is one of those free domains - .qzz.io) and I would like it so that whenever I go onto that domain then Proton VPN works on that domain only not all of my tabs since some domains need localisation (eg. my server that only works in the UK).

  17. More obvious status indication on the windows taskbar

The status on the current icon on the windows taskbar is so tiny I can barely see it.
When you hover over it, it does not say if the VPN is connected or not.
I would like a larger visual indication and also the status when you hover.

  18. Keep Windows 7 support, please don't force us onto Windows 10/11

    Hi everyone,

I was shocked to see Proton VPN drop Windows 7 support yesterday, 07/07/2026. Please provide a legacy client or a 12-month transition period for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit users.

Forcing upgrades to Windows 10/11 contradicts Proton’s privacy mission. Features like default 'typing personalisation' (keystroke monitoring) and Windows 11’s 'Recall' (automated screenshots) severely compromise privacy.

I use Windows 7 for technical autonomy. Switching to Linux isn't viable as I rely on expensive, proprietary engineering software.

We choose Proton to protect our data. Please don't force us into privacy-invasive OS environments. We need a working Windows 7 solution.

  20. Advanced Kill Switch breaks NetworkManager after reboot on Linux (Fedora 44 + other distros)

The Advanced Kill Switch on Linux has a persistent bug that breaks networking after a system restart. I experienced this multiple times in the past on Fedora 44 (currently using Standard Kill Switch).
