VPN split tunnel for IOS.
Please provide Split tunneling on VPN for iPhone and iPad.
Unfortunately, iOS does not allow us to see any other app on a device, which means that we cannot exclude apps from the VPN. This functionality is therefore not possible with the way iOS currently works.

What about split by IP or subnets, If we have no access to the app list

The Cloudflare WARP/Zero Trust Client can also handle this.

Proton, so how Surfshark do this on iOS? There is a option called Bypasser and works great.

Concur with all the other comments. It’s very cumbersome to have to turn off and turn on everything a service doesn’t work with the vpn. Please add split tunneling to iOS.

Essential feature for iOS - split tunneling implemented in Proton VPN works very well in Windows and we need this in iOS - very annoying and inconvenient having to disconnect VPN for certain apps. If this can't be done soon, then at the very least Proton VPN needs a pause feature that will automatically reconnect after a specified time interval.

Windows and Android have this. And as long as you have no static/dedicated IP option for non-business users, folks in the Apple ecosystem really need a better way to not look like a VPN to sites that are hostile to VPNs. Tired of being blocked or getting endless captcha garbage.

Somehow dev in Surfshark make a bypasser (split tunneling) on iOS. So it is possible to change. It would be great to have a split tunneling in Proton. Please 🙏

When Proton VPN is enabled on iOS, whatever the protocol selected, Visual Voice Mail doesn't work anymore (voice messages are no more received on iOS).
Reason is Visual Voice Mail is incompatible with VPN service.
That's why VPN split tunneling is required to be developed on iOS. -

Most banking and electronic payment apps don't work with VPNs. The roadmap of late 2024 announced about split tunneling for macOS, but iOS version is more important for me.

Some banking apps won't work with VPN. It's not very practical to disconnect and connect all the time.

I would like the ability to have the VPN for things like browsing the web / using certain apps but also be able to run certain apps without the VPN for maximum speed ( like Signal ).

I just subscribed to Proton VPN Plus and can no longer access Apple airplay. I also have a connection issue with Apple CarPlay. This restricts my ability to use the features Apple provides so Proton may not be suitable for my purposes.

Additionally, some apps do not work well with a VPN if at all, but that I still need to use occasionally. Currently I turn the VPN off, restart and use the app, and then have to remember to turn the VPN back on afterward.

I recently fixed an issue with over usage on iOS by switching to iKEv2, but also need to be able to further curtail usage by allowing bandwidth-heavy but low-risk apps to bypass the VPN while keeping higher risk apps secure. Otherwise I need to turn off the VPN when I leave my home Wifi network, which somewhat defeats the purpose.

Need this feature to allow some transaction to by app to flow on the local network but all other traffic to flow through the VPN. This is important for work related apps.
