How can we improve Proton VPN?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  3. Set apparience on Android as well as on IOS

    I've just seeing the IOS app screenshot from https://protonapps.com/protonvpn-android

    The buttons are located at button and the android version located at top. Is any way to change this and the two version looks the same?

    This idea or feature was sent at Proton with Bluesky and Twitter/X

  4. Quick Toggle for Split Tunneling

    Introduce a dedicated button on the main interface of the application on PC, allowing users to quickly toggle the Split Tunneling feature on or off. This enhancement aims to provide convenience and efficiency for those who frequently have to switch this option, eliminating the need to navigate to settings so often. This quick toggle button would be similar to the existing Port Forwarding and Kill Switch toggles.

  5. Need to add wireguard to invizbox

    I have two invizbox that I use, I will like to use wireguard on the invixbox. You have wireguard on everything else.

  6. Changing your username once your account is made.

    When you create an account with Proton, you'll register using your email address. This email then serves as your username. Personally, I prefer not to feel like I'm logging into my email each time I access Proton. I typically set my username as "drlaggybro," and I find it convenient to use the same username across various platforms and services.

  7. Geofence auto-connect

    Being able to set the VPN to autoconnect when it goes to mobile data, certain wifi networks, or all except for certain wifi networks would be super helpful. For example, whenever I am not on my home Wi-Fi it would auto connect, no matter if it is mobile data or a public hotspot, etc.

    F1 TV compatibility should be available in other country than US. At least one country by continent. Because For European, it will be too slow to connect to US.

  10. split tunneling for domain name

    Current split tunneling allows IP address and application. The IP address is an unreliable way to open a bypass to an external website.

    Please add the ability to split tunnel to a domain name. This would help with various sites that block VPN Server IP addresses.

  11. Choose DNS through the ATV App

    I'd love to switch from NordVPN to Proton but at the moment I have no possibility to set a custom DNS within the Proton Android TV app. The only way is to use OpenVPN which is really uncomfortable. Please, add the possibility to use custom DNS on android and you'll earn another user. Thanks

  12. VPN default profile

    VPN default profile. I use VPN for work and created a dedicate profile for it. Unfortunately there is no way for me to select the default profile, so whenever it conennects it takes the first fastest server making me change to the profile. I would like to have the possibility to change the default profile.

  17. Automatically Revert to preferred profile/fastest server after maintenance

    Scenario: A user is connected to a preferred/fastest server and eventually it goes into maintenance and moves the user to the next fastest connection. However, when the preferred/fastest server goes back up, the user has to be mindful that he/she has to manually revert back to the preferred/fastest server. Also, there is no notification that the preferred/fastest server is back up.

  18. By improving your ad blocker filter list

    I did an ad blocker test on https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html.

    • With VPN turned on I only got 74% of the ads blocked.
    • With VPN turned off and enabled DNS 176.9.93.198 (dnsforge.de) 93% of the ads are blocked! Your VPN service overrides the more powerful ad blocking DNS of dnsforge.de. Please improve your ad blocker.

  20. Two Design Suggestions

    It's difficult to distinguish "On" or "OFF" on the Mac Menu Bar Icon.

    And the larger screen color should have a light and dark option. While the purple color is dramatic, it's extremely difficult to read.
