3. Remove uncaught spying vector for slimy Google

   First, how many starting users know all the settings and that they might be "effectively" thinking they're private on the VPN, while really not necessarily being protected fully from Google spying.

   This is not a knock on Proton's excellent tunnel privacy, but a sort of front and back door that may be open, like it turned out to be on my iphone ProtonVPN install.

   The biggest spyware operation that's ever existed called "Google," has a DNS operation to spy further on users activities which can happen prior to entering the VPN tunnel... IF ... you have "Allow Alternative Routing" to be turned on (which is the "tyrannical" default setting).

   With browser fingerprinting and Google spy scripts on I'd estimate 97% of all websites in the world, it can easily know you are
   a) diving into the finite number of Proton servers and
   b) know it's you by virtue of the million points of data in a file they have on you and use it and fingerprinting to know it's you on the other end.

   Privacy's number one enemy is the scumbag Google, manipulating world elections with its data and allowing for potential blackmail of anyone who opposes it, whether by its own doing or a government that has access to its servers (with/without consent).

   Solution:
   A) Turn off Alternative Routing by default;
   B) Make it a tranparent choice as to which service(s) can be picked for alternative DNS;
   C) disqualify Google from being one of those services!

   Google has so many conned into thinking it's a friend with its manipulating algorithms, easy/lazy tools for webmasters, and cheap phones, chromebooks, tablets to "own" the user like a good spyware rootkit, but one that also puts users to sleep.

   And lastly, Alphabet is already being said that for its A.I. it now wants every literal bit that flows on the entire internet to be in its servers. Sick.

5. More comprehensive blocking abilities

   Blocking of ads and trackers is an important part of maintaining user privacy and the ability to browse the internet without being constantly surveilled or provided with skewed content based on the decisions of algorithms.

   NetShield is cool, but it would be great to have a more comprehensive blocking capability in Proton VPN similar to the likes of AdGuard. Currently, it is clunky to use AdGuardd or DuckDuckGo tracking protection together with VPN because most platforms allow only one VPN connection at a time and a "fake" VPN is necessary for the blocking services to work.

   Important features for this are:
   -Ability to either activate some blocklists from a wider Proton-curated collection or to subscribe to custom blocklists and have the app regularly check for their updates.
   - Ability to add custom block/allow rules.
   - Ability to filter all DNS requests.
   - Potentially ability to customize rules per app on platforms that allow this (Android only afaik).
   - Ability to inspect HTTPS traffic by inserting itself into it with its own certificate. This is important for blocking DNS requests made by apps via HTTPS.
   - Possibly a companion extension in desktop browsers to complement blocking with esthetical adjustments (removal of empty spaces left after ads) and adding blocking rules straight from the page.
   - Log of requests. This is important for user troubleshooting in case important DNS requests get blocked.

8. Add more servers in Brazil

   Brazil has been facing some political problems because the president and the highest authorities of the Brazilian justice (STF) have an alignment of ideas with communism and dictators, it is essential that Proton seeks ways to circumvent future barriers in Brazil because they want to censor the internet and social networks, telegram for example has been experiencing problems with some frequency in brazil, and in addition brazil is a continental country, the current servers are all located in São Paulo, I suggest that they add more servers distributed in the main capitals of the country to improve connection speed (Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Natal, Florianópolis, Brasília, Salvador, Curitiba...) and finding ways to circumvent possible forms of censorship, there are millions of Brazilians who use VPN or proxy services, if you manage to offer better conditions than your competitors you would certainly get new customers, currently no VPN provider has a focus on Brazil, and All connections are reasonably slow, if you are the pioneers you will certainly profit a lot.

   Brazil has a population of more than 200 million, and at least 70% of these people use the internet and social networks at least 8 hours a day, now that Starlink has arrived in Brazil, I believe that the number of people connected will approach 100 % because many people did not have access to the internet due to the enormous territorial extension of the country and because there is not a good infrastructure of cables or antennas to make internet available in all corners, with Starlink this scenario will change quickly.

11. What is the point of VPN profiles, if you cannot save the most essential connection settings into them?

    When I use the VPN for everyday web surfing, checking emails, or streaming Netflix, I do not use features like split-tunnel, port-forwarding, or NAT moderation.
    When I use the VPN for P2P file sharing (torrent), instead, I do need to activate the three features I just mentioned.

    Therefore, at the moment I have to open the application settings and change these three manually every single time.

    What is the point of allowing users to setup connection profiles for different purposes, if you cannot save essential connection settings that are clearly an advantage for some of those purposes (that you designed profiles for), and clearly a disadvantage (if not a risk) for others?

    Please introduce the ability to save into each profile different settings for the split-tunnel, port-forwarding, and NAT moderation features.

    ProtonVPN NetworkManager Library has a hard dependency on systemd-python [https://github.com/ProtonVPN/protonvpn-nm-lib/issues/18].

    I'm upgrading ProtonVPN-CLI and packaging ProtonVPN-GUI in GNU Guix [https://issues.guix.gnu.org/59246], which doesn't have/use systemd.

    Could you please make the systemd optional or make seatd [https://git.sr.ht/~kennylevinsen/seatd] an alternative option?

    I'd like to be able to remove some servers from the list that I can connect to. There are several VPN servers in my state and when I connect I'd rather be out-of-state. I'd like to be able to connect to the fastest server that is not on my black-list.

18. Add criteria options for Quick Connect

    The "Quick Connect" button connects to the fastest available server; however, not all servers are made equal. If I want to connect to the fastest server that supports streaming, P2P, or Tor (or some combination thereof), then I have to go to the server list and manually compare available servers, then pick the one that is best. This is especially concerning with P2P, since even different servers in the same region don't consistently support it, and there's no easy way to see the supported features of the server you're connected to without finding it in the server list.

    It would be extremely useful to have toggles beneath the "quick connect" button to enable or disable those any of those three features as requirements.

20. Profiles: Allow selecting multiple servers

    It would be nice to change profiles to add a checkbox beside the servers in the list so we can select multiple servers to put in the profile and leave out others.

    Ex. I would like only Toronto Ontario servers nothing else in one profile.
