  1. Select country that you don't live in when activating free vpn.

    Currently while using the free vpn protonvpn automatically connects to the closest server. This is a problem however when you are simply trying to bypass a region lock. Please allow free vpn users to connect to the second fastest server if the fastest connection is in their home country.

  2. Put the currently used VPN server at the top of the list.

    So you would have your list of countries, and the folder with your current server at the top of the list, regardless of the alphabet. And then, first in the list, the server you are connected to, if any.

    Make sure ProtonVPN is safe against CVE-2024-3661 (TunnelVision)!

    According to the researchers responsible for the finding: "Using network namespaces on Linux can completely fix this behavior."

  5. Filter by TOR

    Finding TOR connections is painful unless you know the exact server. Searching for servers isn’t fuzzy, so searching for “Tor” returns nothing. There should be a TOR toggle next to the Secure Core connection toggle to only show those connections

  6. Offer WireGuard inside SOCKS5 for IPv4 and tcp-only Wi-Fi

    A trouble with WireGuard is that it is only udp

    Another trouble is that
    — som sites, like AWS, only offers IPv6 for free, not IPv4
    — outdated public Wi-Fi may only support IPv4, no IPv6
    — outdated public Wi-FI may only support tcp port 443

    Therefore,

    Proton VPN should support WireGuard udp encapsulated in SOCKS5 server port tcp/443

    This is supported by the Android non-root outbound firewall Rethink
    — tunneled traffic should be both IPv4 and IPv6
    — transport traffic should be be both IPv4 and IPv6

  9. Snap package

    Please make a snap package for the Linux app. It has improved a-lot recently. It's way easier to install an app from snap store than adding new repos to system package manager. Plus the app will appear in Linux store apps and inevitably makes it more popular on Linux devices.

    Most of ISP of Asia Pasific cannot Connect US,Japan or Natherland Server .So, It will be very great work if possible to add Free Singapore Wireguard Server .

  11. Proton Pass icon

    The present ProtonVPN icon is too similar to the Proton Pass one, it would be so cool if Proton could think of customizing the small icon app with a small symbol (a 🛜 or a 'link-icon', just to name a few), just like the tiny "31" on the ProtonCalendar icon.

    This will help nerd users like me to avoid clicking the wrong app. 😇

  13. Being able to select the city along with the State/Department/Province

    May 28th, 24. I like the new changes, but I don't like the fact that you can't see/choose the city anymore only the State/Department/Province. Please add the feature back where you can see which city one is selecting in the State. Thank you.

  14. Add Stealth to Router Downloads

    Please add the stealth protocol to router download options. Currently you support standard and secure core features only on UDP/TCP. Adding Stealth mode as a configuration download option would allow me to better secure all of my network.

  17. Bring interactive map back to Android app

    I like the new app design on Android, but the map section has just become useless, you can't use it to search for servers, it is just there for this (good looking) fancy animation when you connect to a server from the list.
    I would like to be able to see map markers (one per city) on the map and connect to them via press. For this you obviously should also be able again to traverse the map and zoom in/out.

  19. iOS Shortcuts: Select Profile

    Hello,

    I like the shortcuts integration for iOS to initiate a VPN connection. However it is quite simple in its current state. There should be an option to initiate a VPN connection using one of your created profiles.

    Potential Use Case:
    When opening YouTube iOS shortcuts will initiate a shortcut that initiates a proton VPN connection using a specified profile e.g. to Albania (any country that doesn’t have adverts implemented). When closing the YouTube app iOS can initiate a shortcut that disconnects the VPN.

  20. Remove icon and pop-ups about switching plan to Duo + any future sales tactics

    I don't want you trying to sell me on different plans while using your paid services. You sent me emails. I know what Duo is. Please remove links and pop ups from apps. Simply sending a couple of emails would be just fine. This goes for any future products or services.
