Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.
Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.

I've given this one vote, because even though I think it makes complete sense for ProtonMail to focus on secure email, I'm already using ProtonMail as a defacto secure storage technology for certain items. It's the only platform I really trust.

Agreed with the comment consensus here - email is what I'm looking for, not document storage.

tresorit has good features(zero knowledge mobile upload, browser) that spideroak doesnt(mobile and browser is not zero knowledge). spideroak has a good priced unlimited plan. If proton mail does get to this, it would be great to have a reasonable priced unlimited plan with more tresorit features. if it falls short in price(too high) or not enough features then users will have better options elswhere. would switch email and unlimited data backup to proton mail if they actually move forward with it

While I would LOVE to see ProtonMail get to this, I think the priority at the moment should be email communication. Tresorit does a great job for encrypted cloud storage and is also Swiss based - I suggest looking into them at the moment.

This seems far outside the scope of protonmail's service offering, and would be better served by another provider. Its not hard to host your own Owncloud instance or similar with client side encryption.

Focus on email. You can just encrypt your stuff and then put in on Google Drive for the same result.

To keep my mail and cloud data both in and via Swiss I use Protonmail and Tresorit cloud storage.

I'd like to see ProtonMail stay focused on Email. No need to be a jack of all trades. SpiderOak is a good place for encrypted zero-knowledge online storage if you want that.

Provide secure alternative cloud file storage. I do not trust current providers and they are also easy pickings for law enforcement prying.

It would be great if I can store all my Gdrive or Dropbox data on a secure service, like yours.

I would love a feature like storage even without a client site software the same kind of security like the mail service i think it would defiantly attract more people to this amazing company !
Even if it where just for personal storage not even for sharing purpose
