More storage options
Please offer an option to upgrade storage capacity without having to upgrade to the Visionary level. I would like more storage but I do not need additional users or addresses or domains.

Agree this is an important idea that needs to be improved. Perhaps it is lower than competitors because of how encrypted it is on both ends and this affects their offering? Either way, more storage please yes!

We need a way to increase storage without having to buy a duo or family plan. Just increase a single account and pay for the additional amount.

Proton can't reasonably offer as much for free as Google does because they don't use your data to profit as much as Google does.

This would bankrupt Proton.

I want to get away from Google One for my cloud storage needs and Protons new desktop app seems pretty good. But I need at least 5-6 TB of storage. Unfortunately, to get that right now I have to get some limited edition "visionary" plan with some bitcoin wallet thing. Which I simply don't want to do. I'm perfectly willing to pay to add the extra storage to my Proton Unlimited plan, but unfortunately, that does not seem possible. Which means I won't be migrating further into Protons eco system.

For the price of Unlimited, 500GB feels short to be honest compared with other apps (I think it should be 1TB).
But also Proton should offer ability to buy additional storage if you need it.

The proton unlimited plan would be perfect for me, but I can't get it because I have over 500GB data. I hope you rise it to 1TB fast, no problem if price goes up a bit.

Being a holder of an unlimited plan, I'm happy with the feature set. However, I must agree that the possibility to have more storage is important.
It could be a simple price add-on (+10 EUR/year for additional 500GB, for instance), as apple does. -

Would be nice to get more storage. Keep the current limits, but if you would like more, it would be a paid service above and beyond the membership fees. I have 530GB right now and that is more than enough, but I can see others needing more space.

I'm already running out! 500 GB is not enough & I have no need for the additional features in the family or business plans.

Reading through the comments, I'm not sure but there is a Family plan and a Visionary plan which is now available again as well. People should remember that Proton is not a price fighter nor do they want to be. Most people here comparing prices and so on, makes no sense, if it's only about the price you can find cheaper places. You pay for privacy and security, you pay for Proton to keep your data safe and to support them to develop more tools. The fact is for an average user 500GB is more than enough. I mean look at the price, for 6TB at the Visionary plan its reasonable to me as well, it's average priced, not the cheapest and not the most expensive either, but they do respect your privacy.

I think it should just be allowed to buy extra storage as you need it. Like you sell 1To for X amount of dollar and you can add as many as wished.

Yes, I agree with larger storage. I want to DeGoogle myself from Google. To do that I would need all the services in one place, not only that I need more storage.

Proton should consider enhancing its free plan to offer more competitive features compared to Google's offerings. Specifically:
Increase storage: Provide more free storage space than Google's current 15GB allocation.
Expand features: Include additional privacy-focused features not available in Google's free plan.
Maintain lower pricing: Ensure that Proton's paid plans remain more affordable than comparable Google plans.
Highlight privacy benefits: Emphasize Proton's superior privacy protections as a key differentiator.
Improve ease of use: Streamline the user interface to make it as intuitive as Google's services.By implementing these changes, Proton could potentially attract more users who are looking for a privacy-focused alternative to Google with generous free offerings and reasonable paid options.

I really need 2TB or more of storage. While I can afford it, I prefer not to use a family plan. If Proton Drive offered a pay-as-you-go option, I would be happy to use it. Why not offer additional storage, like 100GB increments for an extra $2 per month on top of the current plans?
