Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Already out of principle, to support the privacy movement, the shared values, Proton should show a bit more love to Linux. I have been paying for a Proton Unlimited account for years but I am still running Dropbox on my Linux Mint...
Update: recently I switched from Dropbox to MEGA. Otherwise, who knows how long we have to wait for a proper Linux client from Proton.

Hey Proton, would you like to have more paid accounts and with a higher plan? Do the Fk Linux clients ;)

Privacy is a significant concern for many of us who use both Linux and Proton services. Having a ProtonDrive client for Linux just makes sense! ;-)

I seriously need a Linux client for Proton Drive otherwise the service is no good to me. I had subscribed to Unlimited but downgraded to Mail Plus as the Drive web interface doesn't suit my needs. I only use Linux based machines personally.

+1 I'm a software engineer. I exclusively run Linux. Proton Drive is useless to me without a desktop client.

Would love for there to be a Linux client. On my development machine Linux is my main OS.

I'm using Linux as my daily drive. The lack of a Linux client is really a pity...

It's a bit riduclous, I pay for the suite which includes the drive but have to pay again for a different drive provider because there's no linux client for proton drive. Most other major providers have Linux clients - SpiderOak and Mega are encrypted zerio knowledge but still have (******) Linux clients. I'd be happy just to mount it to the file system, dont' need an interface, Linux has various generic ways to do that. OK most providers' linux clients are buggy and installation needs coaxing but they at least exist! It gets my goat a bit paying twice because Proton drive is not practicable on Linux.

paying customer for mail, I would use your family plan and switch from another provider in a pinch if you supported linux (even through CLI only)

Paying customer. If you truly want to build a privacy first internet, you *must* support Linux.
I appreciate that is has the smallest install base, but it should not be so far behind in terms of support.

Proton is claiming to be an advocate for open source, security, etc... but Linux is always the last OS to be implemented. I Kknow there are fewer users for Linux and there are various distri but still, show us that Linux matters when open source and security matters.

I agree with most of the comments here. Been a paying proton user for a few years now, and happily so. I totally understand that linux takes a backseat to windows and mac development, but it's dissapointing to see that a linux client is not even part of the roadmap...

unfortunately without this proton drive is nearly useless as i move from windows. id love to see proton become thr first and only encrypted file storage solution with a native linux client (even if it only supports NTFS or rclone)

Moving to Linux is a core part of my recent privacy push, how can Proton claim to be a privacy-focused service and not offer Linux support? First time I'm disappointed with this company.
