Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Required to use this with Linux. Flatpack requested as well.

I'm willing to pay for Proton ecosystem, but as a Linux user I need to have this or drive does not worth it
Deal breaker for me.

I have put my toe in the water...have Proton Mail, expanded my Drive storage to 5GB with recent offer, tinkering with Calendar. BUT...without the ability to easily interface with Drive from Linux, I just can't justify the paid version.
I need to be able to move, copy, access files from the command line just like I do with Dropbox!
cp -r BigDataFolder/ /Dropbox/
Doesn't SEEM a tall ask...just wondering if it's a "support" thing?

I am a paid user and wish I could vote for this all 20 times. For a tech company so focused on privacy and security, I am kind of shocked there isn't already a Linux client.

Proton Drive will become practical for me only once there's a Linux sync client. Until then it's a cumbersome way to do occasional backups. Dropbox figured this out long ago, and their seamless cross-platform syncing is the standard to beat.

I really want to consolidate my VPN, Cloud Storage, and Email with Proton. A Linux Client for Proton Drive is needed for that functionality.

I'm trying to switch to proton 'suite' full time, but using the web client for proton drive is clunky and slows my workflow considerably. Having to locate, download, edit and upload again is very time consuming, and prone to errors.

Linux client critical for paid users.
Please see the dropbox linux client ubuntu (including repository application) for an almost gold standard. That is your competition and currently dropbox is the best cloud option for linux.

It's almost a deal breaker for me - the security of my data on my computers is more important than most of the other benefits of being a proton subscriber, numerous as they are. Many Linux users are professionals or experienced enthusiasts whose support for proton products hinge on such issues as reliable backup software.

Very useful as I use a Linux desktop for consolidation and local backups.

At least need a way to use rsync/rclone, but a Linux app or extension would be best for most users I'd think. I've got clients overseas who use Linux for security reasons, and they won't be able to use Proton Drive at present.

Have Visionary account, this client is critical to have remote backup of my data. Primary as CLI to sync from server and optionally app, however web client works well for client use.

I'd give this 20 votes if I could. I'd buy Proton Unlimited if there were either a Linux client, or some official support for rclone.

I personally use Nextcloud but I'm really considering moving to Proton Drive. As Linux is my only and main system, counting with a native client is critical for me. Also, there is a great part of Linux users that are privacy aware.
As others said, if this is not going to happen, it would be great if you opened some of your APIs so the community can develop a solution.

Adding further weight to the commenter asking for something like rclone if you can't/aren't working on a full client.

This is the only thing that prevents me from switching to Proton Unlimited full time. I simply cannot work without Linux, and it's a shame that Proton Drive doesn't support it whatsoever.

I like to use proton drive as a save storage for all my files. Recently, I moved from windows to Ubuntu, and it was a disappointment that I cannot directly use proton drive anymore.

If a full desktop client isn't in the works, please consider supporting the rclone backend for Proton Drive (https://rclone.org/protondrive/) by providing a published API.
