Manage user rights on shared files or folders
when sharing a folder or a file, it would be great to be able to choose the other users' rights, like:
- View only
- Modification of the file (or add/remove files for a shared folder)
- Resharing
Hi everyone, you can now securely and privately share files and folders with specific email addresses.
Easily assign collaborators as editors or viewers and revoke access at any time. https://proton.me/blog/enhanced-sharing-drive
Rolling out now for the web (everyone should have access by tomorrow) and coming soon to other platforms.

Wanted to create a shared folder where a bunch of my friends could all add their photos but there was no option for them to upload... Would have been nice to have this feature

This is important both for Family subscribers and organisations who need to share content and do work together. It is probably the most popular use of google's drive. Naively, I just expected it to be here and was very surprised and disappointed to see it didn't exist.

Please Proton implement these features as they are an integral part of online storage, whether for professional or personal use. I currently have a paid subscription but this missing feature prevents me from fully migrating from Dropbox and/or Google Drive.
• Adjust user access (view only, modify, re-sharing)
• Allow a folder to be shared with other Proton users w/ the ability for them to upload and modify the folder.
• Create a File Request folder for non-proton users to be able to add files to. -

This feature is a must so that I can share sensitive files with accounts, rather than worrying about password protecting a link, and pgp encrypting the password.

This feature is a must for us to ditch OneDrive,Google Drive and MEGA!

I am disappointed to learn this isn't possible. I assumed it would be, so I made an admin account I was going to use to allocate important files. Now we will all have to login twice? Ugh.

I need this as well. Not having this feature is one of three major reasons preventing my company from subscribing to ProtonMail Business.

Very important feature to be able to share a specific folder with others (possibly equipped with MFA) whoever can download and upload. Or per folder can grant permissions to others as now also with Proton Pass share option.
For us, it is forbidden to use Onedrive (or anything similar) and all documents go via Protonmail. Which makes version history very important but also error-prone.
Also to comply with our ISO27001 standard it is a must! -

I would also like this function for our family.
We have a family subscription and we have a folder that everyone should have access to. Unfortunately, this is not possible with ProtonDrive.
In my opinion, this is actually a basic function.Variant 1:
Create folders in the personal drive and then share them with the Proton user (read or write).Variant 2:
With a family subscription, it would also be a solution that can be created as admin shares, these are also assigned storage space accordingly. Then you should be able to select the family members who can also access this share. So the owner would not be a user but the familyOf course, it would be ideal if both variants were possible.
Otherwise I think ProtonDrive is TOP.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

I can share a folder but the recipient can only then access the files though the webpage from the link.
I was expecting and would like to see a similar user experience to how the shared folder in proton pass is implemented - share the link with a specific person/s (rather than just a link that could go astray) and we can both/all then access the folder on both the web page and the phone app to add/modify files (according to the permissions of the administrator of the folder). This would make the share feature actually (very) useful for my family -

want to combine files/photos/videos from different people into a writeable secure folder - now using dropbox

I strongly support this request. It is virtually impossible to keep track of folders shared by other Proton users.
Having eg. a "Shared with me" group listing folders shared with me would be one way to keep track and easily access these. -

Really important that we can allow others to upload files to specified folders as well!

Add me to the list of folks that are surprised this is not a feature already. I would give this idea all ten of my votes if I could as I had mistakenly assumed this was already a feature.
Allowing trusted others to upload files to a password protected folder is critical for my use of Drive. While I am happy that I can share the files I want to share currently, it is very frustrating to have to rely on non-proton (and often non-secure) service to have trusted parties share with me.

It would be great to have this functionality in the windows app, too, not only in the web version.

This would be to be able to share a live folder from our ProtonDrive with another Proton user. To take my example as a Proton Family subscriber, the idea would be to share a folder with my partner that we could both feed. Very practical for things like the house, bills... In short, common things. Today, you can only share a link available for download. Or, for Family subscriptions, you can share this or that folder live.

Why would you create a cloud drive where users can't upload to shared folders???????
