Table of Contents :: Proton Docs
Thanks for making Proton Docs!
Will you please add a button to toggle a floating table of contents to the left side of a document that is being viewed or edited?
Ideally, the TOC would show the headers of the document that would scroll to that part of the document when clicked. This would be similar to the feature in Google Docs. Additionally, a config option for it to set how many headers deep it would show would also be helpful.
Thanks again!

This is also a reason for me not switching entirely to Proton Docs from Google Docs.

This is the only reason keeping me from switching from Google docs to proton mail

I agree, this is an essential function i miss with Proton Docs. Would be really great! It is not really possible to work in longer documents without it.

I can easily work in the documents, but to use it for editing larger texts it becomes very very tedious to use without a table of contents.
The text style headings are there, so it seems like it should fairly simple to make the anchor links available -

this would be super useful

Even without inserting a table of contents, Google Docs also can just show the table of contents always on the left of the document, which is a great way to jump between sections.

I also miss this by a lot. For example Google Drive has this feature where you can insert table of contents (Insert -> Table of contents). For large documents it is really necessary because there is no easy way to jump between sections.
I would really like if you can implement it similary to Google Drive because this is the only feature that prevents me from fully switching to Proton Drive.
Thanks!

This is the most critical feature for me. If we had this, I’d be able to migrate off Google Docs entirely.

100% agree with the OP; this feature would greatly improve the user's ability to navigate larger documents and is, in my opinion, sorely needed.

Please add an option to create a table of contents (a summary) in Proton Docs.
A table of contents is very useful for presenting a summary of the various elements, such as a report or specification.
Thank you Proton for your work.

having a TOC is a basic for navigation around anything other than a couple of pages. It allows separating out sections of the document, perhaps one being a blog... this is a basic feature of googledocs I cant do without when collaborating with others on a project across organisational borders.
