Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

I've replaced my day-to-day workstations with Linux from MacOS. Currently using Tresorit and would replace with ProtonDrive once a good Linux client is available. since MacOS is already available, unsure why Linux is a heavy lift other than prioritization.

Absolute game changer. I would love to replace my current storage solution. Privately and professionally.

This would be a game changer. I run a small consultancy firm. Planning on moving us all to Linux-based laptops in the next year. Without this, we'll stay with MS for mail, calendar and files, and just retain Proton for VPN. With it, we could switch everything over.

This is incredibly important to me. I'm really reluctant to upgrade my Mail Plus subscription, because I don't know when this feature will be added. It doesn't seem to me to be on the roadmap for the immediate future.
If this feature would be there, I'd upgrade instantly. -

same, same - we need this!
I'm further increasing my layers of personal security and identity protection by moving back to Linux from Windows and the lack of support is stopping me doing so.
please :)

Yup, agree with one of the other recent posters. My next renewal is my last unless there is activity on this issue. Prioritising a crypto wallet over expanding an existing product to the Linux OS is far too bewildering to continue to put up with.

This has been need for a while now. Drive is the last app missing Linux support.

I've been a happy paying Proton user for more than 6 years including a Proton Unlimited plan for the last two years which I recently renewed. It may be the last time. I might also downgrade to Mail Plus, use the leftover credit for future Mail Plus plan renewals, and subscribe to another service that has a Linux sync client. No Proton Drive sync on Linux is increasingly becoming a show stopper.

Please Please, Pretty Please, how long does this need to be the most voted request before it happens.

Or at least document a public API so that the rclone community can build a decent integration.

I am an avid Linux user, and a dedicated Proton user. Having a Linux client for Proton Drive would be a game changer for me, enabling me to take full advantage of the service. Not only would I upgrade my plan, I would recommend Proton to everyone I know.
My wife is currently a Windows 10 user, which hits end-of-life in October 2025. Before that happens she will be transitioning to Linux, and as part of the transition away from Microsoft she will be looking for a cloud storage alternative to OneDrive. I would LOVE to upgrade my account to Proton Duo and introduce her to the Proton ecosystem, but without a Linux desktop client, Proton Drive will not function the way she needs it to, the way we all wish it did.
Proton, please, please, please develop a Linux desktop client for Proton Drive. The entire Linux community would greatly appreciate the added functionality this would bring to an otherwise excellent suite of services. -

This is what I need to be able to ditch Dropbox. It's absurd that it hasn't been implemented yet.

I would like to switch over from Google Drive to Proton Drive but without a Drive Client for Linux this doesn't work for me.

Any update on this? It's the #2 most requested feature on Drive and it's not even being worked. At least provide a REST API in the meantime. I'm paying for a Visionary account and the only thing it gets me over the Family plan now is the extra 3 TB that I can't even use because you've make Drive so difficult to use.

I just wanted to add my vote for this severely lacking feature. I have switched my primary computer to Linux and its shocking that a company focused on privacy wouldn't make this a priority for an OS that attracts people interested in privacy.
If its going to take time to develop, why not at least allow for easier workarounds using rclone and the Celeste GUI? My account refuses to work with those options. It should be simple enough to allow that as a stop gap measure while you finish development.
