Streamlined File Creation & Standalone Access: Currently, creating or opening a Proton Doc forces the user through the full Proton Docs interface and document listing inside Drive rather than opening a focused, standalone document view directly. In comparison to platforms like Google Drive, where creating a file directly opens a clean editing interface, the current flow feels cumbersome and repetitive.
Native Support for Plain Text (.txt / .md) Files: At present, creating new files inside Proton Drive is limited strictly to Docs and Sheets. Adding native support to create, view, and quickly edit lightweight plain text (.txt) and Markdown (.md) files directly within the drive interface would make note-taking and quick data storage significantly more convenient.
Addressing these workflow bottlenecks while retaining Proton’s core encryption standards would make Proton Drive substantially more intuitive and user-friendly for daily productivity."
