I can confirm this issue as well. It doesn't seem to be limited to smaller screen sizes—I am experiencing the exact same problem on a large-screen mobile device.
While basic formatting like Bold, Italic, and Underline works fine, tapping into the three-dot (...) extended formatting menu causes the popup to instantly dismiss itself whenever I try to adjust the font family, font size, or text alignment. The submenu disappears immediately before any option can be selected, returning focus back to the editor/keyboard.
This points to a general UI event/focus handling bug in the mobile Docs interface rather than a screen-scaling constraint. Hopefully, the Proton team can patch this soon.
