    Today I ran a test on my Proton Drive account. I added a folder with 3 files in it. On my local copy of the folder, I added a 4th file then tried to upload the folder again. It told me a folder with that name already exists and gave me 2 choices. 1 Replace the existing folder or 2 keep both, with a number added to the name of the second folder.   4. Update Uninstaller so it Removes Proton Drive Folder Link in Windows Navigation Bar

    The Uninstaller does not remove the Proton Drive folder link in the Explorer navigation bar. The folder cannot be accessed through the link because the folder location is not available.

    Reinstalling PD adds ANOTHER PD folder link to the navigation bar EACH TIME!! So you're telling me that I'll have 40 Proton Drive folders in the nav bar if I reinstall 40 times? Seriously? How is this acceptable?

  6. Simultaneous access to multiple Drive to/from single desktop device

    Allow access to multiple drive on the desktop app-simultaneous login, upload to/download from distinct drives to/from single desktop device. Currently, we can access more than one account on the Drive desktop app, but not simultaneously (feature to add account doesn't exist). Also, once logged into more than one account, we should be able to upload and download to each account or from each account using the same device.

  7. Adjust usage warnings for large accounts

    • using 2GB of a 5GB drive account has no warnings & the indicator bottom-left is ok/green
    • using 600GB of a 700GB drive account shows a big banner at the top of proton that keeps re-appearing & the usage indicator bottom-left for web mail+drive shows red.

    Suggested fix: adjust the warnings usage percentages to be smaller when the total size of the account is larger.

  8. UltraHDR support

    Lack of support for UltraHDR ist the only thing holding me back from switching away from Google Photos app as a gallery+backup solution. Would be nice to view UltraHDR photos in the Proton Drive App

  9. Android App - Set or change default opening tab/page (Photos or Files)

    I don't use 'Photos' and don't like that the app loads this by default.

    • An option to select the default page would be good. 'Photos' would be good if you predominantly use the app to sync photos to the cloud, whereas 'Files' is better if you don't use photos.

    • Alternatively, have the app remember which tab you were in last and load the same tab next opening.

    • Alternative 2: Don't default to 'Photos' when the backup is disabled, give us the option once then default to 'Files' unless we enable it.

    Collecting multiple requests in one place… Dropbox got this right - I suggest simply imitating them in this feature.

    1) Make Photos a subfolder in MyFiles on Drive - do not hideit — treat like any other folder with files. Let user select precise location in folder tree. Possibly use /CameraUploads similar to Dropbox instead of /Photos.
    2) When uploading photos to Drive>MyFiles…/CameraUploads rename files like Dropbox camera uploads with image acquisition timestamp.
    3) provide options for upload location: a shared folder for families, a dedicated folder for a specific device/user etc.

  12. Allow for taking a snapshot

    I am nervous that a file I need could be deleted from ProtonDrive and I may not realize it for months or years. Or I am afraid that files could become corrupted. It would be nice if ProtonDrive could implement some type of snapshot feature that would allow me to manually (and periodically) create a snapshot of my files and allow me to open and recover folders/files from a historical point in time.

    Periodic options might be to retain snapshots for each of the last [3] days plus each of the last [4] Sunday 23:59, each of the last [3]…

  13. Proton Photos Separation of Devices

    I am excited for Proton to start implement a photo backup system for Proton Drive (I am looking forward for it being on iOS).
    My only request is there to be separation of backed up devices with their own photo gallery.

    For example, if you backed up two phones you would be able to view each gallery separately from each other.

    This would be crucial to me for using Proton's backup system.

  14. When Including "/" in a file name, causes sync errors on Mac OS

    So, on the web-app version of Proton Drive, including "/" in a file-name is allowed. However, when syncing that file using the Mac OS client, it will always result in a sync error, as it interprets it as a new directory. "The file foobar.zip doesn't exist"

  15. Add ability to open local folder easily from the Drive desktop app

    Right now, the only way to access this from the desktop app is to go to the Settings and click on the folder destination, which is fine, but I should also be able to have a way to access the "my files" folder. Currently it goes to the user folder which is one layer up.

  16. Forwarding rule: add "recipient" as a usable condition

    Now only the sender, the subject and the attachment are placeable inside a forwarding rule.
    I would like to forward some messages what comes to one of my alias address only.

    Show phones as computers. Many folks have multiple phones and they're really just computers. I like being able to see what is where, and perhaps, being able to have sync groups so desktops can stay in sync separately from phones, etc.

  18. Post individual git commits for the apps

    Currently, the public code repository for the ProtonDrive apps only has a single git commit for each release. This makes it incredibly hard to track down bugs when beta testing, and is similar to what garbage companies like NVIDIA do for their open-source software. Other Proton apps have each individual commit in their respective repositories, so I don't see why the ProtonDrive code is published in this terrible way. I make frequent bug reports when I run into issues beta testing Proton software, and this makes it impossible for me to provide higher quality bug reports to the Proton developers,…

  19. When uploading a large number of files, don't upload files already present

    Specifically for the android app. When you upload a number of files, some of those files may fail to upload properly. When you upload a 2nd time, it may be difficult to see which files failed on the first try. The app should see if there are files to upload and ask what to do. Always overwrite would upload everything whether to was there in the protondrive or not. Never overwrite would only upload files not already on protondrive. Only upload changed files would only upload files that weren't already there, or if already there, did not match in terms…

  20. Install without Windows admin

    Other cloud storage clients i've used can install to the current user's apps without admin rights. Can PD please do the same?
