  1. Buy and integrate Filen.io as a replacement for Proton Drive

    Really, Proton Drive is an important idea but it's taking forever to become a viable product. Meanwhile Filen.io has been running for a while, is similarly security-focused, and already offers a sophisticated set of desktop, mobile, and web clients. Additionally Filen properly supports Linux along with other OSes, which so far Proton seems unable to accomplish. How about completing your service by boosting it with a Filen acquisition?

    A true synchronisation of all files and folders designated to Proton Drive. Not just photos. For example the Documents folder, the downloads folder or the Desktop. Or any other folder on your device you want synced with Proton Drive.

  3. Color Indicators for Prioritizing and Organizing Folders

    I use drive to work with employees who are remote. It would be helpful to have a way to color code folders/contents for what I'd like them to work on first.

  4. Make shift-clicking selection boxes allow multiple non-continuous selections like gmail.

    Most software that has selection boxes (eg gmail) allow you to shift click one sequence of files, then shift click another sequence of files and create a non-continuous selection like this: [X][X][X][X][ ][ ][ ][X][X][X].

    It protondrive though, trying to do this causes your first sequence to be replaced by your second. This is a major quality of life issue when sorting a large volume of files

  5. Improve rendering time for proton drive photos

    Currently when viewing photos in proton drive via desktop browser the images are very slow to render making it painful to use, it seems as if each thumbnail is downloaded as needed.

    Please optimize this experience while retaining privacy, perhaps an optional local encrypted thumbnail cache, or if browsers complicate matters introduce a photo browser in existing desktop app?

  6. Fixed-Size Progress Window in Proton Drive

    In Proton Drive when uploading a folder, the progress window jumps up and down wildly as it shows more or fewer active or completed files being transferred. Can you make the window stay one size, so it doesn't look so chaotic?

    Better yet, can Proton Drive just show a progress bar next to the folder, instead of a detailed window. Maybe the window with file-by-file info can be hidden in an info button next to the progress bar.

  7. Checklists in Proton Docs - allow to bulk check or bulk uncheck items

    Sometimes a long checklist is meant to be reused regularly.

    You go through the checklist the first time, marking items one by one until all are checked.

    Then next time, it's time to go through the checklist again. You have to refresh the checklist to make them all unchecked by clicking the box next to each item one at a time. In long checklists, this can be very tedious and time wasting.

    There should be a way to bulk select a number of checklist items, and then bulk check / uncheck them in a single click.

  8. Offline decrypted stored files mobile (iOS)

    It would be incredibly helpful if there were an option or an adjustment to an existing feature that allows (offline) stored files to be already decrypted. Similar to how files are stored on a PC.

    In the mobile app (iOS), it is currently impractical to scroll through a folder of images. This means having to manually download each image, open it, view it, close it, and then open the next one.

  9. Add "private link" to (sharing) Drive Document/Folder

    I'd like to be able to use "private links" to my documents in other tools. For example, Zotero is a tool to manage scientific reading material. I currently use Google Docs to store my documents and add a private link to them in my Zotero library entries. (IT is important for it to be a private link, considering that some libraries are shared or public, but I don't want to get in trouble with sharing links to copyrighted material.)

    Expose the "Photos" location to rclone. Perhaps allow the user to specify a custom folder name to synchronize photos to. Then rclone could be used to simply sync that specific folder.

  11. Do not modify video files when uploading to/from Proton Drive from iPhone

    Situation:
    1. Open Proton Drive on my iPhone 15 and let it upload my camera album (both photo's and videos).
    2. Open drive.proton.me in a browser and download all uploaded photo's and video's to my Windows pc.
    3. Extract the archive.
    4. Some of the videos have "_modified" added to the file name. This means that Proton Drive had modified them somewhere in the process, what I don't like. I want the original files for the best possible quality.

    There seem to be different scenarios:
    1. Slowmotion video's are downloaded twice: once in the original version (eg. IMG1234.MOV) and…

  12. Customizable Storage Quota Thresholds

    It'd really cool to be able to set your own storage quota capacity used thresholds at an account level to dictate what is "warning" or critical" so everyone could decide the color coding of storage usage based on their own workflows. Currently, everything except the windows protondrive app show 3TB of 6TB (50% usage) as orange. A couple slide bars for warning/critical levels would be much more helpful.

  13. Accessing ProtonDrive through DuckDuckGo (bugfix)

    [suspected bug] Downloads from PD through DuckDuckGo could not be located anywhere on my Galaxy device. Reported to support, who recommended I try another browser. Indeed: no such problem with Chrome. But may still be worth looking into.

  14. Unlimited Storage

    I would like to see Unlimited Storage tier similar to Google Workspaces and Dropbox. It's one of the two blockers that prevent me from switching to Proton.

    The way Google and Dropbox implemented it is they don't just give unlimited storage up front but require users request increase when they approach their current storage limits.   17. Allow user to manually clear sync errors

    It would be great if there was a way to manually clear sync errors in Proton Drive on OSX. Like if I don't need/want Proton Drive to automatically retry a sync, say, if I've removed the file.

  19. Improve drive sync algorithm to greatly improve performance

    Proton Drive is extremely slow to upload my files, it's going at around ~200 Kbps, whereas speedtest.net shows I can do 3.62 Mbps upload.

    This is especially noticeable when there is a large number of small files to sync (eg, photo collection).

    I suspect that a potential cause is that new threads might be created to upload each individual file, resulting in the unnecessary opening and closing of many connections. Perhaps a better solution would be for each upload thread to establish a continuous connection and then pipe multiple files through that connection as raw data, which can be split…

    Switch the font size form PX to PT

    Also, need to be able to see what the page is. have a different background color than the page agree?
