Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

I'd love too see this too. Having no Linux client is the only thing that keeps me from starting a paid Proton subscription (and thereby migrating to Proton services in general). I'd do that as soon as there's a Linux client.

Lack of this feature is the only reason I'm still on DropBox. As soon as I can have a Linux (.deb / Ubuntu) version that syncs automatically, I can finally transfer my data.

Desperately needed to auto sync for Linux. Also please make it possible to sync a KDE Plasma Vault to Proton Drive when the vault is unlocked.

Yeah, this is really needed...
I need my drive to have constant access to some of my Linux directories, which can be backed up easily.
It is disappointing to see that Proton is very supportive of privacy, but doesn't support Linux which is private by default.

Drive for Linux, and ability to sync, would be great.

Proton team, please, I see nothing happening for linux client for months at https://github.com/ProtonDriveApps/sdk, I know it is just sdk but still can you make some honest statement where we are with this? Everything is better than leaving us scream for most wanted feature that long.

I'm happy with my Proton suite, but am genuinely surprised to see that there's no Proton Drive for Linux client. Many Proton users (myself included) will be looking to move away from today's bloated commercial OS offerings, and the lack of a Proton for Linux client is a bit of a hurdle.

This is a deciding factor whether I stay with proton...

Critical feature. Rclone is a temporary workaround.

Totally critical to be fully useful.

Child you please, at least, collaborate with the RClone team?!

How tf is is possible that some guy can create this: `https://github.com/DonnieDice/protondrive-linux`. But the company who's user-base supposedly cares about privacy doesn't offer a proton drive linux client...

It's apparent that Proton is putting a lot of work into innovative and highly important new products like, for instance, their AI-think (...Lumo). That's excellent :-) Their expanding on many fronts.
BUT by now, I have been waiting for quite some time on "Proton Drive for Linux". Maybe I can't appreciate the hurdles implementing something like this, poses to Proton. Maybe it's just too difficult.

This is basic functionality for a cloud drive. Embarrassing that there is no Linux client.

it was said that a drive client would be released for linux "this summer" in their blog, and it is almost the end of 2025, a shame we've been waiting for so long with no clarity on why the delay is here :(

Really, 4861 votes and Proton shows no interest? This is so ridiculous! This actually shows how much a company has an interest in its customers!

For me and many other users who are migrating to Linux, a desktop client would be very useful, besides, honestly, in the case of Drive, a web client helps, but the daily interaction is horrible. I believe it's past Proton time to create a desktop client for Linux.

Can we get an update from Proton on this?

4,850 votes and still not begin.
Seriously problematic.
