  1. Lumo should transition to European-origin AI models

Lumo uses Qwen 3.5 and GLM 5.2 (both Chinese-developed models) despite positioning itself as a European privacy-first alternative to American and Chinese AI services.

    Why This Matters:
    - Digital sovereignty includes model origin, not just hosting location
    - Users chose Proton to avoid Chinese tech dependence
    - Transparency mismatch between marketing and technical reality

    Request:
Commit to transitioning to European-origin models (Mistral, Apertus, etc.) or update communications to be transparent about current model origins.

  2. Voice to be fully compatible with downloadable voices.

    Hello

i want to be clear, i am not doing another "add voice", but i am suggesting something that i hope will get implemented once voice is used

I currently use piper for tts since i don't like the idea of all the companies to take everything i write to get registered

and well that is the idea. piper already exist and also we can download different voices. Including non English

On top of piper existing, i do hope that this will severely reduce the pressure to implement it.

And please understand that while for stt, aka the reverse, i…

  3. Lumo Integration to Read Encrypted Emails, Calendar, via On-Device Processing

I want an AI assistant (Lumo) that can automatically read my Proton Mail inbox and execute actions based on preset rules (e.g., sorting, summarizing, drafting replies, flagging urgent items, consolidating multiple emails into one for review). I understand this requires on-device processing to maintain zero-access encryption. Currently, I have to manually copy/paste emails. An automated, privacy-preserving workflow would be a game-changer for productivity. Lumo needs more gemini like functionality in the Proton product space.

  4. It could save and edit written files in the chat

At the moment it is only able to read it, but it could also edit it or add new files in a virtual storage system.

  8. Allow multiple folders in projects

Currently (Lumo Plus, 2026-07-29), only a single folder can be associated with a project. That makes it impossible to organize the knowledge base, e.g. into personal data, role, client, project for client, and reuse this data in other projects without duplication.

  9. Embedded images and preview-style links in responses

It would be great if when, comparing different products, for example, Lumo could embed images and links in-line in the response rather than trying to dig through the Sources section at the very bottom of the message.

  10. Write permissions for Lumo to share infos between projects

I’ve created several projects in which I work on different topics using specialized Lumos.

I also have a general chat outside of the projects that I use for general questions, journals, small talk, or brainstorming. However, this general Lumo doesn’t know what’s going on in the projects because they’re isolated from one another.
While brainstorming, I had the idea that it would be really handy if Lumo had a dedicated folder with write access in Drive where it could create files to share with the projects. For example, summaries when a project is successfully completed or updates on its current…

  11. Fix "Context Length Exceeded" on moderate-sized log files

"Context Length Exceeded" errors when uploading moderately sized log files (even 1-5 MB text files) to Lumo for analysis despite the theoretical 128k token context window.

Use case: As an IT administrator managing cloud infrastructure, I need to analyze server logs, error traces, and security events. Other AI assistants handle multiple large log files without issue. Lumo currently dumps entire file content into the prompt, consuming all available context upfront.

Thank you for considering this feedback. Privacy-first AI with practical file handling capabilities would make Lumo indispensable for professionals managing sensitive data.

  12. Support AGENTS.md or similar global configuration file for automatic context

Allow users to define a markdown file (e.g., AGENTS.md) that Lumo reads automatically at session start, providing global context like tech stack, coding standards, infrastructure constraints, and behavioral rules. This would:
    - Eliminate repetitive manual context-pasting per session
    - Work across all conversations (not project-scoped)
    - Support version-controlled configuration (Git repos)
    - Align with emerging AGENTS.md standard used by other AI tools (Junie AI, GitHub Copilot, Aider, Gemini CLI)

Free-tier compatible since it doesn't require persistent storage — just file parsing at session start. File could be stored on Proton Drive.

  13. Make chats downloadable for personal archiving

Why are Lumo chats not downloadable? This is most cumbersome in 2026. While chats are ostensibly saved with a Lumo account, they are subjected to being abridged (for "lengthy" chats) and totally unavailable without internet. So what is the deal? Is it a Proton encryption thing or have you just not gotten around to it or what?

  14. Lumo Green Ads Position Paper.pdf (or .txt.docx)

Title: Integrate Green Contextual Advertising to Expand Lumo Free Tier

    Description:

Problem: Lumo's subscription-only model limits free tier generosity (7-day chat history, 100 queries/week), restricting adoption to a privacy-conscious niche rather than building the mass user base needed to challenge US AI dominance.

Proposal: Implement "Lumo Green Ads" — contextual advertising from EU-certified green companies, using the EU's September 2026 Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (Directive 2024/825/EU) as regulatory foundation.

    Benefits:

Enables expanded free tier (300-500 queries/week, 30-90 day history) for users opting into ads
Preserves privacy principles: no behavioral tracking, no profiling, on-device content classification only
    Creates…

  15. Remove Lumo Completely.

Please remove lumo completely. It is grift and waste. At MINIMUM provide one button to completely deactivate everywhere. I do not want my subscription funds paying for this. I did not sign up for it, it was added without my consent and i find it very difficult to remove it from my sight.

  16. Deeper integration with Proton Drive and Mail

Subject: Deeper Lumo Integration with Proton Drive & Proton Mail — Direct AI-Powered Organization

As a long-time Proton Visionary subscriber, I've watched the Proton ecosystem grow from its early days into something truly remarkable. Lumo is a fantastic addition, and the existing Proton Drive file integration — being able to add files to a chat's knowledge base — is a great start. However, I'd love to see a much deeper integration where Lumo can actively help manage and organize my Proton account, not just read files I manually bring into a conversation.

Specifically, I'd love to see Lumo able to:

  17. Customizable start screen

A way to set the default screen when you first open the app to the screen/ side bar where it shows the projects and in progress/ history of chats. most of the time when i open the app thats the first screen i go to, and it's a bit of a pain to have to click up in the top left corner just to get started, i prefer to be able to scroll through the last time i used lumo, or be able to jump right back to key points, or go to my projects. It would simplify my workflow…

  19. Allow Users to Manually Pin Items to Persistent Memory

Title: Allow Users to Manually Pin Items to Persistent Memory (URLs, References, Project Links)

    Category: General Ideas / Lumo

Lumo's persistent memory is a powerful feature, but users currently have no direct control over what gets retained versus what fades between sessions. Memory aggregation appears to use opaque heuristics—frequently discussed topics and user facts tend to persist, while specific URLs, project links, and one-time references often do not.

This creates a recurring problem: users who share important links, reference documentation, or UserVoice post URLs in one thread return in a new thread to find that context is gone. The only…

  20. Ability to check updated files from Proton Drive

When I upload a file to Lumo from Proton Drive, Lumo makes a suggestion to change something in the file. A word file for instance. I do the changes and want Lumo to check it again. But a file that has been once uploaded to Lumo cannot be "updated" it can be uploaded and then it is locked in practice. I need to rename the file if I want lumo to see the new version. My proposal is that once I have updated a file on Proton Drive that I have a possibility to remove the old version from the…
