Ease Navigation through a Chat: Chat Outline
At the moment, I am finding it difficult to navigate through the information in a chat when it has several questions.
The biggest problem I have is finding a specific question again in the chat, because my questions are much shorter than Lumos's answers. So, when I want to scroll back to a particular question, it takes me a long time to read through the chat.
The same thing happens when I'm looking for a specific part of an answer. First, I have to find the answer, and then the relevant section. This is time-consuming and mentally exhausting.

Define the title of new chats on creation
The ability to set the title of new chats on creation instead of the default AI summary.
e.g. - "Let's start a new chat called 'Workday Assistance 2026-01-14'."

DICTATION PRIVACY
As a privacy-focused user, I am hesitant to use voice input because of the 'whenever possible' clause. I need a mandatory 'On-Device Only' toggle in settings. If the on-device model cannot transcribe a phrase, the app should fail locally rather than routing to the server. Without this hard constraint, I cannot trust the voice feature for sensitive conversations

Project Threads Lack Clear Memory Architecture
Title: Project Threads Lack Clear Memory Architecture—Choose Privacy OR Context, Not Neither
Category: General Ideas / LumoThe Current Problem:
Lumo's v2.0 persistent memory aggregates content from general chat threads—but excludes project threads from memory aggregation. However, project threads remain indexed and searchable by keyword within the account.
This creates a contradictory state with no tangible benefit:
…No context continuity — When you mention a project topic in a general chat, Lumo doesn't know the project exists or have any history to reference No real privacy — Project content is still searchable/indexed, so it's not a true "black box" No2 votes -
Feature Request: Adding OCR/Image Text Extraction to Lumo for Expense Tracking
Dear Proton Development Team,
First, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible work you do. As a long-time Proton Unlimited user, I deeply value your commitment to privacy, security, and the "privacy-first" philosophy that sets you apart in the tech landscape. The fact that Lumo is built on zero-access encryption and respects user data is exactly why I chose to adopt it.
I am writing today to share a piece of feedback regarding a potential feature enhancement that I believe would significantly boost Lumo's utility for daily life: Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for image uploads.
Currently, while…

Multiple personalization settings
Would it be possible to add different personalization settings and switch between them depending on how lumo is being used?

Allow us to pick which model to use in a custom Lumo
I created a Custom Lumo to do some research into property housing and this works best in with Lumo 2.0 Max, however i had the Lumo 2.0 Lite selected and when i went to run the custom Lumo it did not perform very well.
Why not add a drop down to define which model we want to assign to a custom. It could be set to default, which could be the lite version and if we need to we can change it to Max. So it will override/change the current model selected if needed.2 votes -
Add files or attachments to calendar events
I see "Add Proton Drive Files as attachments in Proton Calendar events" is a present request - however, it would be great to be able to add attachments regardless of Proton Drive usage.
For example, I have a ticket to an event in my pm.me email. It would be great if I could just add the ticket to my calendar event and have all info housed in one app - one source of event truth.
Another use case: adding text documents to meeting events so the agenda is attached to the event and more readily accessed.

Allow Lumo to deal with Memory reduplicates
I notice the memory list often has either exact duplicates or very similar worded info. I presume there is some kind of self-check to see if a memory has already been added. But its not quite up to standard.
May i suggest can we give Lumo permission to comb through the memory and weed out duplicates or too similar ones. If there are edge cases it could apply a tag for a special filter called User Attention Needed (or something) and we can click on this button that is lit up when it has memories to assess and we only…2 votes -
Delete images independently
It would be good to be able to delete images from the Images section independently of the chat/conversation they were created by - especially when created within a project where it only seems to be removed when the entire project is deleted.

Custom Lumo Presets — Add a Visual Content option
Custom Lumos is a brilliant addition. You already have some built-in presets for Data Analysis, Writing Assistant and a Summarizer, what about one for visual content (image generation, editing, analysis). This would complement and further customize the new visual intelligence features perfectly.

Highlight‑to‑Answer Feature
Add a capability that lets the user highlight (select) any fragment of text in the chat and then have Lumo generate a response that is explicitly focused on that highlighted portion. This makes clarifying questions, getting quick explanations, and avoiding unnecessary back‑and‑forth much easier.

Learning Feature on Lumo
I would love to see Lumo receive a learning feature similar to ChatGPT or other AI tools. The idea would be that Lumo could help users study by generating learning materials such as quizzes, flashcards, or practice exercises automatically based on input. This would make Proton not only a privacy-focused productivity suite but also a helpful tool for education and personal development. Adding such a feature would make Lumo far more versatile and improve its value for students and lifelong learners.

In-Chat Search with Navigation (Next/Previous) & Highlighting
While browser shortcuts like Ctrl+F can search the currently visible text, they lack integration and advanced features needed for long conversations. I request a dedicated "Search in this chat" function built directly into the Lumo interface.
Specific requirements:
A native search bar within the chat thread (not relying on browser tools).
Typing a keyword jumps directly to the relevant message(s) within the current thread.
Highlight all matches visually.
Navigation controls: "Next" and "Previous" buttons to cycle through multiple matches efficiently.
Ideally, a counter showing "Match X of Y".
This is a critical usability feature for power users who treat Lumo…2 votes -
Project Knowledge Preview adjustable width on lumo.proton.me
Right now when I preview project knowledge in Lumo on lumo.proton.me, the preview shows up in a side bar. However, the side bar can't be adjusted in width. With the project folder in full screen on most monitors, there is a LOT of extra real-estate. I'd be nice if the frame used to display this preview was adjustable in width so I could use that free real-estate.

Export and Import of Custom Lumos
It would be nice to export already created Custom Lumos and import them again. This way i can give other people my Custom Lumos and they can import it instead of creating them from scratch.

Label/display costs (token, Wh, fiat) for budgeting, and timestamps
"In my ideal world, every single query ever would have its reply begin with a local time timestamp, (the offset from UTC), the commensurate UTC timestamp, an approximation of the token count for the query, and an approximation of the token cost for the inferred/generated reply."
"it would help us users see exact e.g. "Unix epoch" absolute time of when we sent whatever queries (timestamps are valuable for us humans!!), as well as begin getting a feel for usage and consumpiton, in the same ways that over the past decades many of us have become familiar with approximately how…

Screenshot -> Proton Drive + directly added in Lumo's chat/project
WARNING: what i am suggesting does exist if you use "change destination" of the screenshot program you use to save the images in a Proton Drive folder that will upload the pictures and so on. So please understand that what i will suggest is actually MORE then this and it's DIRECTLY linked to Lumo. AKA no, this is NOT a proton Drive suggestion => NO this is NOT a duplicate of existing suggestion exactly because i am suggesting MORE.
That is also why:
I will NOT explain in details why it's needed because it's absurd to assume that you even…2 votes
