  1. ghost mode (and/or web search) saved

    Hi there,

after I started using Lumo for a while, I like to use the ghost mode by default. However, under current setting (both on webpage and on Android app) I have to switch Lumo to ghost mode (and turn on web search) every time. Can we make it a setting to use the ghost mode (and/or web search) by default? It will save a lot of effort.

    Thanks.

By the way, I like Lumo very much. After I found it, it became my main AI assistance.

  3. Improve Lumo’s UI/UX for a smoother, more responsive daily experience

Dear Proton Community and Development Team,

I would like to suggest improvements to Lumo’s user interface and overall user experience so that it feels smoother, more consistent, and better suited for daily use.

Privacy and security are very important, and this is one of the main reasons why many users are interested in Proton products. However, for an AI assistant to become part of everyday work, it also needs to feel fast, polished, intuitive, and enjoyable to use.

My request is specifically about improving the interaction design and visual consistency of Lumo.

    Suggested improvements:

    1. More responsive UI interactions
      Buttons, menus,…

  5. Please list reference links for various parts of the answer

It would be great if the Lumo AI would include web links with all answers referencing where answers came from and/or where further direct research could be carried out. Perplexity offers this functionality and I really like it because it allows you to put a little more trust in the quality of the answers.

  7. Proton Draw

Title: Feature Request: Lumo Draw – Privacy-First AI Illustration for Authors (Watercolor & Dark Fantasy Styles)

Description: I am writing to strongly request the development of Lumo Draw, an AI image generation tool integrated into the Lumo ecosystem with zero-access encryption. (Note: The name "Lumo Draw" was my original concept, proposed here to maintain brand consistency with the Proton ecosystem.)

My Background & Member History: I have been a loyal Proton member for many years. Currently, I am subscribed to the Lumo+ Family Plan, and I am also a Lifetime Supporter who donated during the annual ticket drive to secure…

  8. Lumo payment separate from my other products

Currently, to sign up for Lumo+, you must add it to your current subscription, with the same time period, so if you have a 1-year subscription, you have to pay for 1 year of Lumo, if you have a 2-year subscription, you have to pay for 2 years of Lumo up front.

The other option is to lose all the discounts on your main Proton account in order to activate Lumo+ for the new term.

For example, if you have a 2-year Duo subscription (€11.99 per month) and you only want 1 month of Lumo for both users, you have…

  9. Allow Lumo to be set as the voice assistant

    Dear Proton Team,

I have always wanted a open source Voice Assistant on my phone as I do not want my conversations with a big tech company like Google Assistant or Gemini.

Currently the only solution I know of is Dicio but the assistant is quite basic in its capabilities so far, Lumo would be a great option because it's based on intelligent AI from Proton.

Please vote for this idea of you wish to see this in Lumo!

  10. Lumo "lite" tier for Unlimited, Duo and Family subscribers

While I get the cost of hosting an LLM and a separate plan for unlimited usage is totally fair, I do think paying customers, especially subscribers to the so-called unlimited plans, should get a little special treatment with a tier of Lumo exclusive to these plans.

Perhaps instead of the 10/day and 200/month prompt limit, 1 project limit and 7 day history that Lumo Free provides, this new Lumo Lite could give us 50/day, 500/month, 2 projects and unlimited history (we already have 500 GB of storage so Lumo message storage should be negligible).

All the other features like unlimited…

  11. Add "Green" and "Research" Search Modes

When searching in Lumo, users should be allowed to toggle on different types of searches, such as:
    1. Green - a search that uses less environmental energy to generate an answer
    2. Research - a search that goes deeper and uses reputable sources (similar to the Research function already present in Mistral AI's Le Chat)

  12. Move Existing Chats into Projects

    Dear Proton Team,

I'm writing to respectfully suggest adding a feature that would greatly improve the organization capabilities of Lumo Projects.

Currently, there is no clear way to move an existing conversation into a Project workspace. While Projects are designed as dedicated spaces for bundling chats, files, and custom instructions, users cannot transfer past conversations into them. This creates a significant organizational gap.

Many users naturally accumulate conversations across different topics and workflows over time. Without the ability to move these conversations into relevant Projects, they remain scattered and disconnected from the context where they belong. This limits the utility…

  14. Lumo - think before you write

Recently Lumo has started interrupting itself mid-answer saying "Wait..." then correcting, sometimes totally negating, the part of the answer it already gave you, which you may have spent time reading and digesting which then becomes a total waste of your time.

Have Lumo not start writing until it has its total best answer. It's plenty fast enough and now that you're displaying its "thinking" process we're not worried that it's stalled.
Or if you prefer, make this a checkbox we can choose, or a retained setting if we're signed in.

  15. Direct save of chats as Docs on Drive (+ Lumo-folder on Drive?)

Integration between Lumo and Docs to allow Lumo users to save chats as Docs on Drive, directly from Lumo.

Purpose: to ease UX of organising projects in Lumo and save time and effort for users.
    Value:
    1) Nudging users to support their own data security, by not using alternative tools outside of Proton Suite.
    2) Supporting user loyalty to Proton product suite, especially Lumo.

    User scenario:
After finishing chat with lumo I press the "save as docs"-button next to "copy" and "try again features" in the bottom right corner of the screen. Dialog opens and asks: "Do you want to…

  16. Calendar - Make today stand out a bit more

I use the calendar in month view and sometime find myself scanning for todays date. In this view with many events being displayed the simple ring round the date doesn't really jump out.
My old google calendar (which I'm trying to get away from) has today inverted which I find much more visible. Looking at it now, it is a solid blue circle with white text, I personally find it very easy to find.
I'd just like today highlighted a little more strongly than it is now please.

  17. Feedback

Please make the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons optional.

Could you put a toggle in settings - to show or hide these feedback buttons?

I am constantly trying to avoid accidentally clicking on the thumbs up/down…

It would be really nice if I could just hide them.

Thanks for Lumo, I love it.

  18. Train Lumo to understand the user interface

Lumo doesn't understand how to communicate through the User Interface very well. It should be trained. Lumo said that the character limit for a single response was about 4000 to 6000 characters. It should know the actual number and be able to feedback to the user that the limit was hit instead of indicating that it will try to better next time (it won't, the UI has a hard limit). When trying to get Lumo to format a list, it is like working with a teenager, it doesn't do what you want and says it will try to better next…

  19. Sort chat history by last activity

    Description:
Lumo’s chat history currently appears to keep conversations sorted by their original creation date instead of their most recent activity.

This creates a significant usability problem when reusing older conversations. If I open an old chat and continue using it, the conversation does not move back to the top of the history. It stays buried in the same old position, even though it has just become active again.

This is especially inconvenient for long-running conversations. For example, I may have a chat created weeks or months ago that I still use regularly for the same topic, project, research thread,…

  20. Lumo User Interface indicate percentage of output limit when responding

Lumo has a maximum character limit for a single response (according to Lumo). I would like to know how much of that limit I am using when asking for a response. Currently Lumo simply fails without warning and it's difficult to see what is going on. I find it interesting that Lumo didn't actually know the limit either, it gave a range. When I started asking Lumo more pointed questions it kept stopping partway through the output it responded:

You are absolutely right to notice that pattern! The problem is not with your request or my memory, but with the…
