  1. option to check in proton calendar

Often I have tasks to do within the day and I don't necessarily want to delete them from the calendar once they're done in order to keep track of the day they were executed nor do I want to keep getting notifications for them as they are done. Therefore I think it would be amazing to have the possibility to check the tasks in proton calendar (like in a to-do list) so that we don't get notifications for them anymore but they keep appearing as executed in the calendar. I wouldn't force all events of the calendar to be like…

  2. Weekday name visible in event (website only)

I'd like to have the weekday name visible in an event in the web interface, just as in the application, e.g. Tuesday, Nov 28, 2023, instead of simply Nov 28, 2023.

  3. One-click events

I find when scheduling things like my work shifts it is very tedious to have to enter every field over and over again when the only thing that changes is the dates. But my schedule fluctuates too much for me to schedule it as a recurring event. It would be nice to be able to save a pre-configured event like "Day-shift" and then just be able to drag and drop it on the days I work the day shift.

  4. New events default to shown calendar

If you only have one calendar showing, new events should default to the calendar being shown.

  5. Categories / Colors for visual organization of events (and ez color prioritization)

Allowing for customizable color tags to Calendar events enables users to easily (and privately) prioritize their events by name and color.

This enhances Calendar use & importance recognition of events.

  6. Overwrite single event notifications by calendar default

If a calendar's default notification options are changed, an option shall exist to apply the new notification setting to the already created future events, being them one-off events or recurring events (aka series).

  7. Agenda view for widget

The calendar widget shows the current day only. I'm not such a busy person that I have multiple private appointments per day. What I would need is an agenda view, a list of either the next X events, or a list of all events in the next X days.

  8. Navigation option to specific years and months

Please ensure a field for entering specific dates/months/years to be searched for! This is a necessary option of a worthwhile Calendar. Have you tried looking at your 2010 calendar entries yet?

  9. Support for alternative calendars formats (Hijri, Jewish, Hindu, etc)

As the title mentions, it would be great to have support for alternative calendars. I frequently need to consider dates from the Hijri calendar (in addition to Gregorian), so it would be nice to be able to see dates from both Hijri and Gregorian at the same time.

  11. Customize Calendar Visibility Across Different Views

    Problem Statement:
In a multifunctional calendar app that fits multiple calendars, such as one for personal events, another for work, and yet another for university lectures, the user interface can become cluttered. This makes it challenging to quickly identify important or unusual events in the monthly view.

    Suggested Solution:
Selective Calendar Hiding: Allow users to toggle the visibility of specific calendars in different views (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) without the manual toggle. For example, I could choose to hide my 'University Lectures' calendar when in the 'Monthly' view to make it easier to spot unique or essential events.
    Custom Views:…

  12. Create a set of configured alerts

I would like to create a set of pre-configured alerts. For example:

    • Quick Reminder alert: 15 minutes before the event, push notification only.
    • Breakfast Reminder alert: 9am on the day of the event, push notification only.
    • Super important alert: 9am on the day before the event, both push and email notifications.

In this way, I can select an alert from my favourite set instead of manually inserting information every time.

Plus, I can modify an alert configuration, and it will relay changes to all the corresponding event.

  13. calendar invite add picture to notes

I want to add a picture and/or document to a calendar invite e.g. a map snapshot of location with directions; or an attached .pdf to review during the meeting that needs to be read beforehand. Along with showing various time zones esp for international meetings, this is important for using with business meetings.

  14. Widget options to display event description or location.

Would be great if there was an option to show either event description or event location in the widget. Would require a slight widget layout change to accommodate.

For example the time could be moved to be on the left side underneath the date, and then the description or location could be shown where time is currently displayed.

If the description/location is too long, you would only display a part of it so that 1 event doesn't take up the entire widget.

  15. Default description and location automatically populated in a calendar

A default calendar description and location would be great. I send a lot of calendar invitations to people using the exact same description and Zoom link information. It would save a lot of time to have one of my calendars fill all that information in by default instead of having to copy/paste that info each time I create an event in that calendar.

For instance, one calendar is a "teaching" calendar. Any event created in that calendar could have the description and location field pre-populated with the desired information.

  16. Setting to show overlapping events

So I know this is likely a niche case that doesn't apply too many people.

But when I'm planning out my week I use multiple calendars based on the context of what I'm doing. And I also put a buffer time onto events.

I also will "Double-book" events over each other on purpose because I'm not sure how long events will take but I know "I want to finish this stuff today". Which Proton Calendar lets me do with ease.

However, on the mobile Calendar App, when I go to the Agenda view. It hides all overlapping events, and only…

  17. Allocate a colour and description to a calendar entry from a pallet of colours (similar to Mail Labels/Folders)

Justification: Quick (glance) overview of types/importance of calendar events e,g, Meeting (Business); Meeting (Personal); Deadlines etc.

Based on the concept avalable with Mail Labels/Folders - colour with free format description? Calendar view becomes multi coloured.

Allocate at time of new entry or an update.

    Thank you

  19. PLEASE Add a biometric or Pin lock to the iOS Calendar app!

A biometric or pin lock to keep events in the iOS calendar private is critical, without a lock the app is completely unusable

  20. Android: Alarm should override silent mode/alarm should sound in silent mode

Similar to Android's "Simple Calendar" I need the Proton Calendar's alarms for events to sound even in silent mode. Simple Calendar can do this. I think it might be related to an advanced option (that's not available in Proton Calendar) to "allow setting alarms and reminders", but I'm not sure.

I need this because my phone is usually on silent but I still need to be able to hear the calendar alerts.

    Thanks!
