Customize Calendar Visibility Across Different Views
Problem Statement:
In a multifunctional calendar app that fits multiple calendars, such as one for personal events, another for work, and yet another for university lectures, the user interface can become cluttered. This makes it challenging to quickly identify important or unusual events in the monthly view.
Suggested Solution:
Selective Calendar Hiding: Allow users to toggle the visibility of specific calendars in different views (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) without the manual toggle. For example, I could choose to hide my 'University Lectures' calendar when in the 'Monthly' view to make it easier to spot unique or essential events.
Custom Views: Extend this functionality by allowing users to create 'Custom Views' where they can specify or filter:
Which calendars are visible or hidden
Which days of the week to show (e.g., weekdays only)
Which people's events to include or exclude (useful for shared calendars)
Which locations' events to include or exclude
By implementing these features, users can more easily manage and view their schedules, focusing on what matters most to them in each view.
